I've recently purchased a Burris 3x9x40 E1 for my AR (18" heavy target barrel) and a Thompson Center Contender (22-250) combo with a Vortex Crossfire 3x9x40. I'm leaning towards putting the Burris on the Contender and the Vortex on the AR. My thinking is the better glass should go on my long(ish) range varmint gun. Any reason not to?

I'd put the Burris on whatever platform you plan on shooting more. While I am a fan of the higher end Vortex scopes, I had a Crossfire and was less than impressed with it, even after I sent it back and they sent me a new one.

Roger that, I plan to shoot the AR the most. I'm hoping that the Crossfire is an upgrade from my old Bushnell Banner on my other 22-250. So if it goes on my new 22-250 I should be satisfied.
