I'll be in the pendleton area for a poker tournament this weekend. Just a typical girls weekend....poker, gunshooting and skateboarding.

Anyways if there are any free outdoor spots that anyone could share directions to it would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!

OK, gonna answer the question to my own thread in case I need to find it again, or in case someone else needs to know.

There is an abandoned gravel pit that is kosher to shoot at. The cops rolled up while we were shooting and gave us pointers before they helped us clean up our targets and then did some target practice of their own.

If you are exiting the wildhorse casino property's main entrance, then you take a right onto whatever road that is (heading north?). keep going until you get to the mini-mart/laundromat thingy and take a right. you'll be driving through the "residential" part of town. Take a left at the sign for the bar-M ranch. Eventually (maybe 10 miles?) you'll have a choice to either continue north/straight on the main road or to cross the river/bridge/railroad tracks and veer slightly west/left. head west/left. You'll climb up into the hills a bit, it's a great view...then the gravel pit will be on your right hand side maye 2 -3 miles up? there may or may not be standing water in the pit to help you visualize it...but further in it will be dry. there will be a bunch of "trash" to help you mark the spot.

If you are only 2-3 miles (actually) north of the RR tracks, I believe you are still on the Indian reservation. FYI, the Tribal PD may not have a problem with anyone shooting there, but there is a "bad element" of locals that could. I know some of the Tribal people there and they have warned of a small group of troublemakers that don't like outsiders. Be safe.
