Shut down of the FedGov does not impact most citizens in a meaningful way. Welfare recipients and retirees living off social security and medicare yes. Federal employees, yes. The rest of us, what does the FedGov do *FOR* you that you notice regularly? States and cities are not shutting down. County govs are still operational. Essential FedGov agencies are still operational.

Keep it shut down till 2020 for all I care. It may motivate some to get off the couch and start doing for themselves. It may motivate others to care for their elderly and disabled family & friends. If Nanny government can't nanny, thats a good thing. Elderly folk are unlikely to die in droves from this. There probably won't be riots.

Trump can outlast the House if he has the real will. He CAN break the back of the Democrat party if he plays his hand right.

Keep it shut down until they appropriate all the funding for the wall.

Nah, I moved to a very rural location on purpose. I have supplies and I am set up to be relatively off the grid. I have friends who are armed who are well known in the community. Some of them are good friends with law enforcement. Since I'm a physician in a small town with only one clinic, I am treating everyone extremely well so that I am positioned as someone important if SHTF. They wont be killing they guy that saved their grandma from pneumonia. I dont have kids, My wife knows how to use weapons. Most of my close neighbors are elderly and frail (I know because they are also my patients). Antifa isnt here, they would be protesting to cows

Yes, I could be prepping better and be more off the grid. But I moved out of Portland for several reasons and this possible future was one of them.

The shut only effect 15% or what's called discretionary spending. So 85% of a 4 Trillion dollar budget will just keep being paid because those funds can't be stopped. So all this fighting is over 1/1000th (5.7 Billion) of a 4 Trillion dollar budget. Keep in mind the Endowment for the arts is about 5 billion.

Once cought here, the invading parties have the full Constitution behind them, just as any natural born citizen.

I agree, there is better technology. However, that tech still catches them after the invaders have entered. A bias judge, and/court system just gives them a writ to come back for a future court day...zero difference than open borders.
