What happened to all of the A2 uppers?

I remember not all that many years ago flat tops were the exception.... now that's all there is.

I haven't seen any used A2 uppers or complete rifles anywhere, not even getting in to the idea of new ones....

So where are they? Why isn't anyone seeking their old uppers?
