I enjoy grounds keeping.

Seriously. Everything I touch stays green and grows well. Guess I'm blessed like that. Call me the modern day Adam in The Garden. I enjoy keeping plants, grass and trees trimmed so others can enjoy it and relax in a semi-natural environment.

Currently that's what I do though, maybe I'm biased. As the current at home dad my job states I do lots of things, indoor and outdoor.

I am quick witted, sarcastic and can cut somebody low without them knowing it. That's why I refrain from being around people (working with, above and below), there are too many that need a swift kick in the head. I've helped run a multimillion dollar construction company and have overseen many employees at the age of 30.... I don't take crap, excuses and other BS things from people. That's why I prefer to stick to nature, even though I am a team player to the end....

In nature there are no arguments with trees, berry bushes or grass. You simply tell them where and how they will grow.

For myself, I'm doing my dream/ideal job. The thought of the day they'll tell me I'm too old and kick me to the curb frightens the sh!t outta me.

For you, first off, I hope you find a doc who'll figure it out so you can get your azz back to work;) More importantly, so you can enjoy life more.
Until that happens, have you thought about buying and selling? I ran this by a lady I know. She told me there are guys who make a decent living by hitting up the Goodwill As Is on a daily basis. Apparently, they find enough resalable stuff to live pretty well. Even if you can't do it enough to make a living on, it's something you could do on your own schedule that might help with bills and whatnot.

I have a good friend who resells to supplement his wife's income.

But he is a dang encyclopedia of what's valuable. When the big lay offs happened 6-8 years ago the market was flooded with people trying to make money that way and it slowed him down somewhat but he had been doing it since before it was a thing.

Maybe I'll do a garage sale and use that to reinvest and give it a shot - the only problem is sometimes you score and sometimes you spend a lot of time trying to break even.

I appreciate all the comments.

I read that book, what color is your parachute, and came out of it know I wanted to be a large lottery winner. All the money and none of the fame of being an entertainer.

I guess I like too many hobbies and won't have enough time even in a long life to do it all:rolleyes:

Retirement - and I am looking forward to it.

But if I have to work, as I currently do, then it would be my current profession; code monkey (software engineer). It isn't always fun - it depends on the code you are working on and where you are working - but solving logic problems is satisfying to me and the pay is good (not everybody can do it, and it takes experience to be good at it). Plus, you are continually learning new things - not just how to write better and different software, but also the business and other problems you are writing the software for - most of it is interesting.

If I had move over here 20 years ago, I would have become an outfitter
How much better job than to take folks down river for the time of their lives or take them out to get that Boone & Crocket bull ?
Here or in Alaska

3 times in my life I have turned down job offers for a white water guide but got married too early to go on summer long vacations.

create a porn website and fill it with pay per click-bait ads and sit back....

I'm not sure even how to go about formulating a response to that... LoL.

At first it seems sketchy but then I think hmmm:rolleyes:.

*Totally reminds me of lock stock and two smoking barrels, when at the beginning the one guy comes up with advertising in that back of gay magazines for, um rear end pleasure devices under a desecrate name, transferring the money to "Rear end Ticklers" and sending them a rebate check with the nasty name on it with the assumption that the people would not cash the refund check for fear of what was printed as the check company name and being too embarrassed to go to the bank with it.

agree, but when I think of it I dont see how it wouldnt generate some sort of revenue for minimal work. Click bait ads are like .05c a click but porn is a billion dollar industry.

I've been a Paramedic now for 25 years and in EMS for over 30! This is still the best job I can imagine! It has it's really bad moments. It's EXTREMELY HIGH moments and everything in between. Most of the time no matter what anyone says it's hum drum hurry up and wait get up at 0230 and help the little old lady up off the floor! Spend hours writing the charts and documenting what you did for every Tom, Dick and Harry to dissect and tell you what you did wrong. THEN you actually snatch a human being from the jaws of death, keep them alive until you get them to definitive care and clean your rig up. What a feeling! What a privilege! To help someone die with dignity! Assist them in their LAST moments on this earth. NOTHING BETTER!
Of course we do it for nearly NO monetary compensation! That's not why most of us do it!
