.... did he buy that gun at that pawn shop?? Maybe we should pass a few more laws to clog up the system some more and see if that works!

Progressive anti-gun media darling is perplexed how this guy passed a BG check.

Wonder which of the psyco drugs he was on? Pump up people with their drugs and turn em loose on the nation, someday people will get wise to it and throw the bast urds out of office.

I don't know how people can stand to watch this style of of so called "News Reports" like that one.

So why aren't we, the "Firearms Community" asking.....

1. How did he pass a background check with an involuntary mental health committal just seven years before?

2. How did he pass a background check after a denial of CCP due to previous arrests?

3. What are the requirements in Georgia to pass a BGC and get a handgun at a legal outlet in Georgia? What type of infractions preclude someone for purchasing a handgun in Georgia?

4. What branch of government in Georgia is responsible for doing BGCs?

How about we get some answers to these questions? Hmm?

Crap, when Wifey got delayed, for thirty days, for her first firearm purchase here in Multnomah County it was for some little thing 19 years before when she was 19 years old and with some kids that did the "Deed". She was taken in and had her parents called to come get her.

"..this country's very loose gun laws..." diarrhea of the mouth - she has no clue what she's talking about, but that never stops the anti-gun folks.

And to answer her stupid a$$ question about how he passed a BGC? It's simple, staring her right in her face - the BGC's are run by GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. Crap, when has the government ever been able to do things efficiently or correctly on a large scale? She shouldn't be surprised at all - it's her buddies in the government that fudged this one up, and they are the ones to blame, if any blame is to be given outside of the shooter himself.

I'm trying really hard not to punch the screen as I listen to this windbag. Logic escapes these people. Common sense escapes these people. If they actually put their minds to work instead of their worn out, wasted and misdirected 'feelings', they may actually learn to look somewhere else for an answer other than the 'evil' guns.

For example, instead of asking how a mentally unstable man bought a gun, the question should rather be this: Why the hell is a mentally unstable man out on the streets!!!!??? Holy heck, why can't these people see this?? They are the ones that don't want to lock these people up. They are the ones that defend criminals and the mentally insane, then go ape-sh!t crazy themselves when these psychos actually commit a crime.

Until the statists begin to question the infallibility of their beloved government, the lunacy/idiocy will continue.
And the proponents of statism in the media, like Ms Maddow above, will continue to be baffled.

Honest answers on the 4473 would have prevented this, but surely the idiocracy isn't/can't be expecting the crazies and the criminals to be honest about stuff like that.
And if they are, then I think we've discovered the root of the problem.

I had that conversation with someone and they got all pissy. But its true!
Why do we let these folks that teeter on the edge of insanity walk among us only later to harm themselves or others?
The only catch22 is, who watches the watchmen when it comes to assylum admittance and holding.. But still, if his wife was worried enough to get rid of her mans firearms within the house.. Im quite sure there was a serious red flag there.

because this country kicks the mentally unstable out on the street now!...the majority of the homeless are mentally unstable and should be institutionalized & MOST HAVE BEEN AT SOME POINT but that cost money....
Columbia county cops picked up a neighbor last spring (a resident of St Helens) born & raised Columbia county person that was unstable and creating an issue he was in a temporary confused delusional state at a public restaurant, the cops pick up the St Helens resident and put him on a bus to Portland to get rid of the problem.
Portland police traced his people and called them to come take care of their upset delusional family member....we were all glad to see him returned home.

TO SERVE AND PROTECT!...... YA RIGHT

WOULDNT IT BE WAAAAAY CHEAPER FOR THE STATE TO PAY FOR THEIR MENTAL ISSUES THAN THE TROUBLES & GRIEF THAT SOME OF THEM MAY CAUSE.

Maybe.
But paying the damages and legal fees when the ACLU sues the crap out of them because the neighbor's rights were violated would most likely offset any monies saved through forced hospitalization.

People blame the government for kicking these people loose, when they were forced to do so by the ACLU and other rights groups, when it was proven that these people were essentially incarcerated without due process, or even any evidence they had broken any laws.
Locking people up because of their potential to break laws and/or be "a danger to them self or others" is a slippery slope.
Creating a nuisance in a restaurant is not a crime.

when I suggest they need to be institutionalized....Im referring to the already clinically diagnosed homeless wandering the streets...the type of crazy that society "used to" take care of.... today we continuously put the mentally unstable in jail for petty offenses, instead of the hospital.....then kick them back out on the streets to fend for themselves again...they dont have a chance they arent criminals they are mentally unbalanced till they flipp out and become shooters or whatever

talk about recidivism

the anti's have made things even worse.
the mentally unstable that NOW own guns wont seek help, because whether its right or wrong they know their guns will be taken away from them

With all the other "common sense" action already in place the next thing will be a check box on the 4473: "Are you now or have you ever been prescribed medication to treat mental or emotional conditions?" That should prevent 70% of the population passing a NICS check.

Remember, you heard it here first.

Why aren't the courts and law enforcement doing their jobs? The are laws on the books concerning loss of second amendment rights. As far as I know, this is the only constitutional amendment that requires a judge take action to remove that right from an individual. So why aren't they doing their jobs?

Some are suggesting that HIPPA privacy rights are irrelevant when it comes to mental health issues. The laws are on the books for privacy and the role of the courts. Maybe they should pass a law that says they have to follow the law!

Of course, then they need to initiate double secret probation or something just as stupid!

Sad but true, this Nation is full of medicated out of shape depressed sheep, as addicted to video games, pornography and social media as they are to the mind numbing meds.

All of this keeps them docile and dependent on the Government as planned???, but a few go off the rails and do this crap. Perhaps part of a plan as well, some believe.

And now because of the Govt.'s incompetence in accurately doing the Back Ground checks that are in place now a new Law will be floated before long if they get their way.

As Qaolin said, ANY meds prescribed to calm you down for any reason no matter how long ago will eventually be reason to disqualify you to pass a BG check!

While we're at it, since the government people seem to think that some questions on a form will prevent crime (since everyone is always truthful on their forms), we may as well add some others too:

* Do you intend to use this gun rob someone?
* Do you intend to use this gat to protect your homies by capping a rival gang member? Follow up - do you plan to shoot this gun 'gangsta style'?
* Do you intend to use this gun to commit a mass shooting in places where you are assured that people won't be armed?
* Are you going to do stupid things with this gun, like shooting at propane tanks when it's tinder dry outside, making other legitimate (and safe) shooters, look bad?
* Will you refer to your new Hi-Point as a Glock?
* Will you pose for stupid photos on social media doing gangsta poses with your finger on the trigger?
* Are you planning to actually check if the gun is unloaded before you clean it?
