I remember being about 7-8 years old, cutting firewood in the mountains with my dad.
one of his closest friends would always go up with us, they both had built 4x4s and we would have a little fun first.
well this one time my dad's friend brought his new firearm to show off, it was a torus 454 raging bull.
took my dad a bit convincing to let me shoot it (with help of course), but he finally broke.
With two loaded just for me, I didn't really know what to expect.
after a pull of the trigger and a close follow up shot I was just amazed.
the power and adrenaline I felt, along with the rotten stump I shot seeming to explode before my eyes..
it was awesome, and I've been hooked ever since.
the following Christmas I received my first 22 rifle a marlin model 60.

An old 8 shot revolver in .22 that I wish I knew what happened to.....not even sure what it was I just remember it from my younger days and how much fun it was to shoot.

first gun I shot was a American arms escort 380. It shot one round and jammed on the next. Disappointing much? But it was still a great day with my pops. He later gave me the gun on my 21st b-day I've done some work on it but still can't get it to work right.

A .22 single shot rifle that my dad built (think chipmunk). We had a old gunsmith in Salmon, Idaho who turned the barrel (he was old 50+ years ago). Dad made the stock and put the action and everything else together. Every one of us kids were trained up on that .22
Shot a lot of rabbits over a lot Christmas breaks in the Pahsimeroi Valley.

First one was an old bolt-action .22lr, no idea of the make or model. Not long after, my brother and I each got a Marlin Model 60 - I still have mine to this day.

first gun I remember shooting is a mak-90 with drum mag . first I owned as I kid was a daisy .22 and heritage .22 revolver , I still own all of them to this day.

Everyone had BB and pellet guns when I as a kid - and slingshots. First gunpowder wep I ever shot in early/mid-1960's was a bolt .22 in Indian Guides or Cub Scouts. I was hooked.

My dad's 30-06 when I was 12...I didn't want to touch a gun for a year...he got smart and got me a .243 Savage...loved it and started to get into guns from there.

That 30-06 kicked me so hard, I almost was turned off to guns completely but I wanted to go hunting with my father...lesson learned- start of small, then work your way up to the big stuff.

A 410 shotgun. I was 11 and my dad and a friend from church were deer hunting when we saw some grouse in the road, my dads friend handed me his 410 and I shot and got 2 of the grouse with one shot. I was hooked on hunting and guns after that. And that old stevens 410 now resides in the back of my safe.

Mine was a Remington bolt action .22lr, (I believe it was called a beehive?)
Then the 12 gauge 870 wingmaster at 8 yrs old... It kicked like a mule but I was not afraid of it and got a rush every time I shot it!!! Think I might have got pain & rush back asswards. ...:)

Stevens Model 15, bolt action .22 when I was 9. Sold it about a year ago to a guy that wanted to teach his son to shoot. I had the gun stashed for almost 50 years and was still in really nice condition but I figured it belonged in the hands of a father and son so for a whopping $50 I made the dad a smoking deal. I scored Karma points that day!
