Hypothetically, let’s say the gun ban was going to happen and AR's were going to be included and a complete gun was needed for registration. If you were planning on putting a gun together before that date, what would be the order you would be purchasing, trading for these items. Possibly paying inflated prices for some items, searching the internet and shows daily for others, and even possibly planning on waiting to purchase some items after the fact to add some items hoping you could add them on without anyone knowing. I'm just curious on what your order would be. Something like this.....

1. Lower receiver
2. LPK
3. BCG
4. Collapsible stock w/buffer tube assembly
5. 30 rnd mags
6. Midlength Upper w/barrel and gas tube
7. Ammo
8. Charging handle
9. Different flash hider
10. Free float quad rail
11. Forward grip
12. BUIS
13. Different hand grip
14. More mags if possible

if they did it like CA they would also ban anything detatchable from ever being on it ie forward grip ,mags, bayo lugs, flash hider, folders, adjustables, thumb holes they simply said you can keep the platform grandfathered but if it has these things pull em or it's a felony.I doubt they will ever stop making/selling most ad ons but adding them makes it contraban

What you do is get active and make sure nothing like that passes. Your firearm owners need to get together as a block, where unrestricted gun ownership is the only goal. Then as a group and individually you make the legislature understand...if they vote for anti-gun legislation at the politically career on the line.

The question is will this be your only AR-15 if so then purchase a complete ar-15 at a dealer and save the receipt

If you have other ar-15 buy a complete lower and put one of your uppers or one you borrow from a friend and take it to a FFL and have them transfer it to you or take a picture of it and take it to a notary public to be dated and notarized.

If you are very cash strapped and already own a AR, buy a lower and gut your ar and make a complete rifle and register it with a FFL or notary public route

and bingo you are done

HOWEVER, when the original assault rifle ban passed if you bought a lower before the ban but did not build it till after the ban, it was a grey area. No prosecutions.

The best way is like was said above. Stop talking about a ban like its GOING to happen and start ACTING to make sure it will never happen. No offense meant, but the longer people talk like this the longer the prices are going to be artificially inflated. The left has at least one thing right; they need to capitalize on the tragic events of the last few months while it is still fresh in peoples minds. It was a tragedy, and I don't mean that we should forget about history, lest we are forced to relive it. But we should start talking about things that actually have a chance of saving lives, like mental health reform and school security, rather than talk about things that only serve to punish law abiding gun-owners and create a scare that is driving up the prices of common gun items...
