Was finally able to get out on my favorite lake to fish with @Thomas_Gunne. A month ago it was so low it was closed. We managed to land 4 10" cookie cutter Landlocked Coho and a 12.5" Triploid.
Although I did forget to load up the 10# downrigger balls we were lucky that the water temp was only 56* so all the fish came on flatlined rods with 150' & 200' set back. thumbsup2.gif

I miss my dawgs.

Glad you were able to get out on Riffe Lake. My wife still says two years ago was one of her favorite birthdays of her life, thanks to you!
I miss our departed dogs, too. Luckily, we have one we rescued 5 years ago, and now have sort of inherited our son's lab. (Who is an awesome pup!)

Thanks Chuck, it's about time to have another trip isn't it? I can't believe this is my first trip this year, normally I'm fishing in the Fall/Winter but they have had the lake so low so low that I couldn't launch the boat.

Yeah I'm really missing them, it's been pretty rough on me.

Back to work!!!
I'm back to work out on the lake slaying slime rockets!!! 'Twas a beautiful day with a good friend to share some BS and refresh some tips that he forgot from last year's trip. It's like riding a bicycle it all comes back to you.

Well it's about dang time I get out on the lake again, been busy with life, reloading, grandkids and a pregnant daughter with #3 grandchild. Also a girl.
I'm headed out to Riffe lake early tomorrow morning which is only my 3rd trip this year.:eek::eek:
I checked the lake level and it is really low but at least they have one lane open. Gonna be trolling in the stump farm again I suppose but it don't matter. :s0071::s0071::s0071:

Got back into serious fishing again. Forgot how much I enjoy it and the fishing here is ridiculous. This summer was my 1st fishing in MT, and I am looking forward to lots of ice fishing this winter. Limited out on Monday:

First blood in the boat at 8:30 and it weren't the fishes blood.
Buried a wide gap hook past the barb, I yanked on it a couple of times and it finally came out. I didn't scream like a little girl either, just got r done.
We got 3 limits (5 each) by 1 pm.
Tired boss dog tired. Even too tired to pose with the slime rockets.
