Yup the Phoenix POS, and the Heritage 6 shooter I had was pure junk but before I get flamed I think they have improved on their quality control. At any rate I traded them both as soon as I could find a sucker for them. You can't run fast enough to give me either one, they won't even make a good boat anchor!

Mosin Nagant rilfe, bought one as soon as I turned 18,biggest mistake I've ever made. I could not hit a clay pigeon at 25 yards with it even with match grade 7.62x54R ammo in it,bore looked good but it was a lie,had the most recoil of any rifle or shotgun I've fired and I didn't find it pleasant to shoot unlike just about every other gun I've shot. It did make a good spear though with that almost 2 foot long bayonet.

I inherited a Jennings .25acp, circa 1985. My relative did some "gunsmithing" on it, making an bad situation worse.

It was dangerously undependable. The only reliable defense it provided was if you unloaded it and threw it at your attacker.

That can be improved upon! Tie some paracord through the trigger guard so you can get some swing speed on it. Use as a flail weapon also means you can hit them more than once since retrieval is now easier....
(on second thought you might want to run that cord through the barrel as the paracord might have more strength than that trigger guard)

At one point I had a MAB .32 auto. French police pistol - and auto was somewhat correct. It usually functioned fine but on occasion it would decide to burp 2-3 rounds when you pulled the trigger. Since spare mags were hard to find I traded it to a gunsmith who wanted a project rather than working on it and fabricating parts from scratch.

A American arms escort 380. Made in the 90's, it's really thin the trigger sucks, and parts are nearly impossible to find (only 1000 made) the plastic on the grips got weak and chunk by chunk they fell off. The recoil spring wore out and I had to Jimmy rig a spring from another gun.
-my dad had it in his closet for a decade and I've had it in my closet for nearly a decade, one day my son will have it sitting in his closet and once in a while he'll out a mag through it and think "that was dumb my hands bleeding."

I have a Sqires-Bingham Model 20 22LR that my daughter had for 15 years sitting in a damp closet. It's rusted shut and I don't think salvageable. I'm waiting for the nearest buyback program to rid myself of it.

I have a MAB D, they are odd pistols but mine shoots just fine. It would be nice to find an extended barrel with threads. Plus one on the mags I only have one. SHTF it would be "well, here you go, dude, it's the only firearm I can afford to give you in these times.

Brutus Out

No guns fit the category, but I did get a Coastal suppressor with my SWD M11/9. It is too long, too heavy, and doesn't suppress very well. Plus I can only use it on the M11/9 because of the 1 off thread pitch. I'd use it as a door stop if it wasn't a NFA item.

I have a 100 year old winchester 97 that has seen better days. The barrel is badly rusted and pitted and I would be afraid to shoot it.
If you don't mind spending a couple hundred dollars on it the barrel can be bored out and a new liner installed. I did that with my 1873 Remington rolling block. It shoots .38spc/.357mag now.

I have a Mossberg bolt 410 action just inside the barn door. Starlings and vermin beware.
I learned to shoot doves with one of those. My dad was a very smart guy. He started me out with that bolt action .410 where you didn't have much range, and you had to make every shot count because you didn't get a second chance, and 50 years later I am still an excellent wing shot.

I have a Russian made single shot 20 ga shotgun that I got so the boys could try out trap shooting when they were 12. The front bead fell off the first day. I keep it because someday I plan to add a sling and cut the barrel down to 18", and make it a coach gun.

So I have seen many post on whats your favorite firearm.
So thought id ask what is your scrap iron, or best used as door stop firearm you have or had.

I had a Jennings 22LR that would jam every other round no matter what ammo I used.
Phoenix Arms HP22 its a 22lR with two barrels and every freaking safety addon made by man.
Its made in Ontario California and there is your clue. Its a good looking firearms arm, but gees
has Mag lock, hammer lock, trigger lock, mag can be removed unless safety is put on gees its like taking a math quiz to use it.

I bought a Phoenix Range Kit for my son & modified it so all of the safeties don't get in the way (YouTube). I also bought the spares to put it back to stock in case it ever needs to have warranty work. He's shot the heck out of it & never even cleaned it. He lives in CA & recently told me it's filthy but that it goes 'Bang' every time he pulls the trigger.

My biggest pile-of-stuff has been a Sig .22 Mosquito. FTF, FTE, jams, the mag falls out.... I bought it used about 3 years ago & had threatened to use it as a hammer but I like to know when my guns were 'born' so I called Sig. I mentioned the problems & they said "No problem - send it to us & we'll fix it for free." Why I hadn't thought of calling them before is one of life's unanswered mysteries. So - either they'll send it back fixed or call me & administer last rites. I'll just wait & see.
