Followed by a WWII and/or Pre WWII era 1911's

Phelps heritage 1 Much preferred over the BFR. Found one a while back but wasn't in the best of shape for the price.

Wilson Combat Supergrade 45acp is a pretty good one.

H&K Mark 23 45acp is another

Or if you really want to go rare, google Merc M11

and of course, who wouldn't want one of the two 45acp Artillery Lugers.

An uber-rare 1st Hand Ejector Model 4" S&W Target Triple Lock .44 Special. Never seen one in that barrel length, actually, but somewhere they exist. I'd settle for 5"; I have a 6.5" 2nd Model Hand Ejector from 1916, I'll be keeping that, but I never want another 6.5" N frame again.

Also a 4" .38/.44 S&W Heavy Duty in .38 Spcl. High-Velocity caliber. I have a Transitional 5", but I really want a pre-war 4".

I love 1911s, but pre-1950 S&W's are just so finely made you have to drool a bit over them.
