Don't know about the upcoming elections, but this 3 day weekend is starting to smell like Armageddon over in white Russia.
Inflation here at home is already freewheeling and nobody's saying " it'll be OK ".

Basically all the same bad crap that happened the last two years, but with the added bonus of democrats trying to act like their draconian measures and senior citizen they put in the white house aren't to blame.

Elections:
Biden is banking on a war to distract from the total mess caused by his administration and plans to use that war as a Hail Mary for a last minute win. As usual he doesn't realize he is down 98 to zip.
Expect unrest and possible violence no matter the outcome of the midterms:

• Red Tide as expected will result in the same violent protests by the Left as they did when Trump unexpectedly won. Been there done that. Likely the most positive outcome for the masses and the worst for the elites.
• Red Tide fizzles and we have no effective change will result in neo Canadian authoritarianism by the Biden Administration looking towards the 2024 Presidential elections. Team Blue will push for whatever they can to retain power indefinitely. Be wary of false flag events to justify martial behavior.
• Blue Tide will be seen as evidence of election fraud by Team Red who will be frightened and frustrated enough to push back. Anticipate escalation and bloodshed.

In all potentials the safest strategy is to be a gray man. Pay cash for your preps and do not give anyone outside your immediate family visibility into them. Either unload in a closed garage or after dark if you can't do that. Get some IBC totes previously used for food grade products like corn syrup, clean them out and use for water storage.

Get to know and assess your neighbors. If things go wonky you can't survive on your own. That only happens in bad fiction. Do they have skills that can be helpful: medical, fabrication, communications, agriculture, knowledge of wild foods, sanitation, water management, etc.. What about YOUR skills to will make you useful enough to others to justify your place?

Identify which of your neighbors is likely to side with authorities for ideological reasons, simple greed or weakness.

Identify which of your neighbors are likely to be counted upon in an emergency.

Use that information to make a rough plan for your neighborhood during wonkytime. It will at least be a start to get the ball rolling if necessary. Where would you park vehicles to restrict access if needed for security? How many people would be needed to man them round the clock? What communication system could be used that is simple and secure (hint; search for IDEN)?

The above us useful for wonkytimes regardless of political, natural disaster, economic collapse, etc.. Keep a low profile, but be ready. Hopefully your kids will grow old laughing about how Dad was the preparedness nerd.

All kinds of ideas but don't want to be a fear monger. I believe the best a man can do is work on his own health and the things he needs to survive.
