Since I can't locate and .224 dia. bullets for my 5.56 loads I have been experimenting. I have 100's of 22 Win Mag ammo I don't use. I have been pulling the bullets to be used in a load. They are 40gr FMJ or 36 gr HP. The bullets are .2235 should be fine. Might not be as accurate but at least they will still go 'bang'. Used an RCBS bullet pullet with .224 collet rather than a impact puller. For the shell holder I found that the one for a 25 ACP works well.

Saving the 4.6gr of what ever the powder is. Once other bullets finally become available I will use the load in my 22 Hornet. Should be a moderate load in a Hornet.

Haha, you da man, man!

I am going under the knife tomorrow for lower back surgery. For the last 6 months I have not been able to walk straight without a cane or walker. That has percludedone any target shooting. Standing at the firing line wasn't possible. But it did give me the time to load a 2 or 3 year supply of ammo. Hoping for a quick recovery so I can punch holes in paper, and clang some plates.

Good luck tomorrow!!!
I've had chronic lower back pain for 15 years but my former employer's self insured insurance company says it's not bad enough to warrant surgery...:mad::mad:
I'm going to reopen my claim this year with the aid of an attorney this time...

Hers hoping for a speedy recovery to get back on the firing line.;)

Loaded 45 ACP with 230 gr SWC cast +P+ level; 45 Colt with 255 gr RN cast Tier-2 level, 44 Mag with 240 gr SWC 90299, 100 rnd of each and various powders. Shot and crono'ed them. Pleased of 45 ACP results, just OK of 45 Colt and very disappointed of 44 Mag - bullets tumbling often.

Hope everything went well! Positive thoughts for a quick recovery!

What was your load data on the .45 ACP? I've got a ladder test ready to go for that with HP-38, we'll see how it does.
I have to warn that my loads are very hot to be used in my 5.5" Ruger Blackhawk and 7" shotgun adapter. This loads may not be safe in ordinary firearms!

Those are, indeed, warmer than I would care to run in my CZ97! How do you like the AA#5?

Busy night at the bench, a shipment of boolits came in, 1k each of 147 grn .356 poly for the 9mm, and 200 grn swc in .45. Ran clean deprimed brass through the sizer and flaring dies, and primed it, ready to load 1000 9mm after I verify the different bullet works ok on the chrono.

Kind of have a bit of a hankering for a cowboy pistol... something in .45 long Colt might be fun, eh?

Doggone it... can't find the record of what I loaded that last batch of 147 grn 9mm rounds with. Pretty sure it was WSF... Since then, I've been keeping a loading log, so I don't lose data, and also writing the pertinent info on a slip of paper in each box of ammunition. I'd go with Titegroup, but it's pretty scarce right now, and the WSF did work pretty well. Guess I'll do a ladder test load today. Got 1k of Black Bullets cluttering up my workbench... *grin*

966A3500-065D-40E2-93B1-D148048501E3.jpeg Finished 100 rounds for the 25-06.
117 gr BTSP pushed by 48.7 gr IMR 4831.

These are my hunting/killing ammo so I weigh each charge and have a personal relationship with each round.

3.5 of wsf with a bayou 147 was about 128pf out of my Cz

I finished up my 100 cases of 762x51- TW 68', sized, trimmed, swaged, and primed, ready to load. It's time to weigh the 147 gn military pulled bullets and pick out the ones +/- .2 tenths of a grain from 147.0
