TH,

Thanks, how could I forget beef, corned beef hash?

The chili with out beans we've stocked a plenty. Wolf brand, hot.

I'm not into prepping per se, but yes, since the plague struck we've slowly started adding things like dried beans, pasta of all sorts. Guess we're prepper-lite.

On a side note: My wife saw a sign posted in our local grocery store that they won't accept TP returns....I guess the panicked don't realize this item will be used eventually, so why bother returning it?

About one hour of this kind of work equals about one day of heat in the winter.

I figure that it is likely I will still be unemployed come winter so I will be burning a lot of wood to save on the electricity while I am home instead of in an office. Every little bit helps, my electricity bill goes up a lot in the winter (I have an electric furnace).

Also, this is where I want to put a raised bed garden, so I need to remove all of these logs. Plenty more where that came from.

Why not a cummerbund that places them on the side? More real estate to use and won't be in the way of drawing out rifle mags.

Why not indeed? LOL!

Was never really interested in getting body armor until this latest round of idiotic mass destruction by mentally retarded basement socialist, so I've been obtaining bits and pieces from the classifieds for a portable kit that I can keep in my daily driver to throw on for an emergency if ever needed, not to go off into an extended battle.

But there's level VI plates in there, and I may upgrade the carrier to a cummerbund style later on down the road.

Heads up on some financial institutions in Western Montana.

LOCAL and their Main HQ banks and credit unions which may be further north for some of them or EAST of the Continental Divide are making changes again.

The local banks and credit unions are starting to totally CLOSE UP their lobbies again OR they are making their lobby hours really stupidly SHORT.

Like 10 AM to 2 PM - Monday through Friday. Those places still have their DRIVE UP windows open but some of those hours may NOW be shorter too!

Some of them have not had SATURDAY drive up windows open too.

Some of the places have CLOSED UP their lobbies entirely including NO drive up window being open and it looks like some bank BRANCHES may just be closed FOR NOW due to the 'virus'.

These are fairly LARGE local banks and credit unions too. They have been in business for a LONG TIME. Some of them have had some name changes since they were bought up by the bigger guys with MERGERS or just NAME CHANGES due to some 'progressive' Board of Directors. Cough - cough.

I made some calls and I looked at some websites. I asked a few of them WHY they were doing this and they said it was due to the VIRUS mess. One super big bank told me that for NOW, as of Tuesday, when I spoke to them that ALL of the lobby closures or cut hours were going to be on a DAY TO DAY BASIS. So she had NO clue what was going to happen.

I expect THIS county or the entire state or MANY other MT counties to make a mask mandatory since the FAR LEFT in many agencies, departments and in politics are leaning that way and they have been in LOCK STEP with specific western states and becoming more and more LIKE them in many ways.

Cough! Frown. ; . (

Another thing.

My husband gave me a few reports. Within the last 2 weeks on one day he saw paper goods stocked up in Costco and Walmart. The next day or 2 days later when he stopped in for something after getting gas at Costco - those shelves were basically BARE of paper goods. (Costco and I am not sure about Walmart because he does not stop there that often unless it is for something specific that Costco does not carry or STOPPED carrying.)

He has not been seeing any of those Kirkland brand Polish hot dogs in the freezer section for some time now. I know about the meat plants all over the country but I am just mentioning this here.

The 2 big Walmart stores IN this town have not had Federal 22lr bulk ammo for SEVERAL weeks now and it may (?) come in around the 13th or so - July.

SW was supposed to get a truck on a weekly basis and they did not get one for 2 to 3 (?) weeks and they had NO idea what was really on it. They told me that a week or so ago (?) so I do NOT know what has happened there since I did not CALL there again just to find out IF they did get a truck or not.

PISTOL and some Rifle Ammo including 30-30 is OUT or only a little bit has come in to some stores too.

The other ammo shortages are what all of you have seen in YOUR stores or in most of them. That goes for RELOADING supplies from a to z too.

My husband did stop in to various stores on and off all over again just to SEE what was going on.

We are okay with OUR stock and he is still shooting on an almost daily basis or 5 times a week with RF and CF firearms - mainly rifles but he still keeps up his skills with his 2 to 3 pistols.

Some soap and ordinary grocery items have NOT been in stock or came back EVER since LAST WINTER - Christmas time to February.

The lady who now works at HOME (Two of them.) and NO longer works at her big garbage company OFFICE told me the last time that I paid the BILL with her via the telephone that she does NOT think that their ONE OFFICE BUILDING WILL EVER OPEN UP AGAIN. This was towards the end of June and I have had to pay 2 quarters with them working from HOME now since they are closed up. The previous spring bill that I paid was handled with the second lady over the telephone.

MT LOCAL COMPANIES from a to z and not just in THIS area are closing up for good as in FOREVER. NOT just due to the original owners retiring or the people who want to BUY THEM CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY THEM!

NATIONAL COMPANIES are doing the same thing. LOOK at all of your financial websites - business news from the USA and internationally.

MAIN STREET economics is not all about the MANIPULATED STOCK MARKET with it's highs and lows.

The COIN shortage is a joke since they want to get rid of cash (MY opinion in the LONG RUN scheme of things.) BUT the US MINT did close up the COIN DEPARTMENT for a time frame.

Fact not fiction and I do NOT know when or IF they opened it up again. I have to read those stories all over again to update MYSELF. LOL So that made the banks and credit unions get short which messed up the stores.

Some self serve check out lines which WE NEVER USE EVER - will NOT deal with cash now too. ONLY a card - debit or charge. THIS is all across this nation and not some conspiracy theory. One large store had their CARD SYSTEM go down or their main card processor for a time frame within the last week or so. The store's name escapes me now.

They say that the COIN SHORTAGE was not and is not POLITICAL but when the FEDERAL AGENCIES from a to z close up or shut down to the 'virus' or any other THING - IT does get political no matter how much you LOOK AT THE SHUT DOWNS that have been forced ALL over this country on the Federal, state, county, city, small town and in rural areas.

I have been getting reports from NW MT right on or CLOSE to the ID border and into ID where some old friends said that you can still SEE shortages and LOW STOCK in many items not only in FOOD too. Many of those remote - rural MT people shop in ID because it takes longer to get to Kalispell or even Libby/Troy.

Mileage!

Many more places and summer EVENTS have been shut down ALL OVER AGAIN.

Some places have been closed for MONTHS and may not open until LABOR DAY if that too. But if I write about that ISSUE now - it will only RAISE MY B/P! LOL BUT we are still PAYING TAXES FOR THE OLD AND THE NEW CONSTRUCTION - BEING BUILT LIBRARIES with NO tax credit but they offer a BIT of curbside service.

Service?!

They could open up if they made the ACTUAL LIBRARY PATRONS go in and out quickly even IF they had to wear a MASK and did not let the bums/transients LIVE there day and INTO the evening - night BUT I do not see that happening E V E R since the bums/transients have more RIGHTS than taxpayers! Uh huh.

THEY get treated with KID GLOVES FOR FEAR OF OFFENDING THEM while they do a crime, do drugs, get drunk, poop, urinate, vomit, bleed, leave trash all over on public and private properties. Plus the criminal bums like to attack honest and TAXPAYING CITIZENS too!

This country is IN one big cluster you know what!

I went to two different businesses here in Twin Falls this week that would not take my cash. I would have walked out, but my daughter went ahead and paid. Then I proceeded to tell her about Agenda 21s and 30. I have to find the actual document to share with her because I think she thinks I am crazy.

Bought some scabbards for M7 bayonets. Already had the bayonets, bought cheap surplus new. No scabbards tho.

Figured try the M8A1 scabbards, as well as the "newer" plastic ones, the M10.

M8A1 off of Sarco.

M10 thru Bainbridge Prof services via amazon.

Never heard of Bainbridge, Sarco has been around for a long while.

Picked up some .38/.357, .410 and .44 mag ammo from local NWFA denizens. Just some odds and ends, but included some shotshells for pistols which are sometimes useful for small animals.

While in town I stopped and got some rice and some foil packed meals and a couple cans of Nido - it turns out Winco now puts the Nido in the infant supplies section.

Good to know, thank you!

Obscenely priced, reasonable markup, or not a bad deal?

Just shy of $14 ($13.5 to $14), it makes 3.3 gallons of milk or $4.25 per gallon.

Compare that to what you pay for milk. I pay ~$3 for half a gallon, but that is lactose free milk.

I don't drink much milk - only on my cereal. If it is hot cereal, just enough to cover the top of it, less than half what I use for cold cereal. I think a can of this stuff would last me at least 2 months, probably longer if I was careful to only eat hot cereal, and it is shelf stable (although once you open it it will age faster, but if you use it regularly, even at the low rate I use milk, I am sure it would last long enough it would not spoil before you used all of it).

I found the best way to use it is to mix it up with hot water, maybe even shake it up, then put that in the fridge to cool it down overnight, then it tastes almost just like whole milk, of which it is primarily (it has some soy powder in it).

I don't tolerate skim milk, and I am pretty picky about the milk I have with my cereal, I have used other powdered milk and didn't like those, but this is stuff is almost as good as regular whole milk IMO - although I haven't used any in years, I just keep it for emergencies. I now have four cans of it IIRC. I should probably use the older 2 cans I have had for some time.

YMMV.
