I assume you did not comprehend the part where I said one could invest in both. There's nothing wrong with having both ammo and precious metals. One thing cannot do all things. I won't make any further attempts to convince you of the benefit of having both ammo and precious metals...

Oh, and I never said I was going to beat my swords into plowshares. I have plenty of guns, and about 25,000 rds of ammo for them. so I'm not so worried about stockpiling guns and ammo anymore. Nor food, since I have plenty of that, too. It's a stable currency that is the issue now. And I don't do cryptocurrencies...

As far as sci-fi writers pontificating what the next currency will be, I prefer to listen to history. That shows that gold and silver always replace a fiat currency...
First, allow me to assure you that I DO indeed comprehend your post.

Second, I said I wish I could agree. It's all good to disagree. You have valid points. I just didn't compliment you on them. Precious metals don't fit my needs.

Third, Scifi especially political science-fiction has been and will remain an incredible tool for both historical review and future projections. Give everyone funny looking bodies, skin atmosphere etc and you can point fingers directly at world leaders and get away with it.

Fourth, History has also shown us that human sacrifice, incest, slavery and many other evils will remain, after the collapse of the current iteration of civilization.

I am an Extra Class so I have my BF's programmed for 4 of my closest repeaters (mostly CERT frequencies) and then 3 other frequencies for FRS, GMRS and MURS to use as Two-Ways as may be required:

Do you ever check in by Lake Oswego? That's a 35 mile repeater that goes all the way close to Sandy. I haven't set mine yet but 'i'm using another strong repeater in Mcminnville. That's my call sign...

I just read current review about this GMRS home article. This guy installed an ED Fong's GMRS antenna in the roof of their house only clamped in an exhaust pipe because this thing is so light just made of pvc and a wire inside. The guy claims that this antenna can transmit and receive competitively with other hi-end home base antennas. He was previously using the same antenna I have which is a J-Pole copper. I actually believe him because this Ed Fong's antenna has been a research for over 25 years and the inventor was awarded and regarded one of the best antenna guy in the the world. I think Ed Fong's antenna is not even $100.00. Maybe one day will change mine. But for now its doing just fine since my house is in a moderately high elevation. I found this out the hard way. I was telling myself back 2017 that I will re-organize my well being situation. I started looking at all my expenses including car insurance, home insurance including cutting the cord on cable which utterly saved me nearly $600.00 per month. Upon putting an aerial tv antenna, I went to so many different ones from directional to bowtie and landed with a $45.00 perfect TV antenna on that can pull 49 channels in both directions NW pointing Gresham / Sandy and SE ponting Lebanon .
So basically I have a strong idea how and where to put a GMRS antenna in my house not expose with lesser sacrifice in transmission and receiving capability.

Perfect match for triband radios such as the - Btech 2501+220, Radioddity QB25, Btech UV25 x4, Baofeng UV5Rx3, and QYT 8900

This antenna was designed for FEMA and is ideal both as a base antenna as well as an emergency antenna. Because of the intricate tuning, we only sell this antenna with the pvc pipe. This antenna is ideally suited for the new triband radios from China. Unfortunately this increases the shipping cost (between $10-15 depending on your location from California). If you are on the East Coast, Kai Chen K2TRW, stocks our antennas. Kai visits the various Hamfests and Dayton during the year. He can be contacted at [email protected] and his website is WWW.kbcubed.com. His phone number is 201-660-5051.

Just in case.. They might be having a sale on friday..

Did my bi-monthly errands today; chiro/massage, then groceries.

While at Costco (Tigard), noticed they had some HD (it seems) ratcheting tie down straps (a set of four) for $20 on sale. Amazon price was something like $40. So I got those.

The cheapos I've gotten at HF wear out, break quickly, and are hard to use/etc.

BiMart had a weird shaped metal ammo can that had about the same volume as a fat 50 can on sale for $14 - so I got one of those.

And I got a couple of saw horses at Lowe's.

Also, not a prep, but I like these for lunches; Marie Callender chicken pot pies - on sale - 8 for $9 (until the 17th) - they are about twice the weight of the cheapo (e.g. Swanson) pot pies, and better. Put 48 of those in my freezer. When I want a quick cheap lunch/dinner - nuke one for 2-3 minutes. I love quick & cheap, and I like the crust/dough.

Read on Reddit that a Redditor had issues with Federal HST in his SIG 365, so I tested some HST in mine.

Out of three different mags, I only had one issue, and I think that was due to the mag no being seated properly.

I will say, that the 365 is not pleasant to shoot, especially with full power defensive ammo - but it is not as bad as my S&W 329. The main issue is the trigger guard hitting my finger. But I could still hit the target while shooting somewhat rapidly. The grip, including the mag extensions, and the Hogue sleeve, do not hurt my hands.

I do like the gun; is is light and concealable, a true pocket pistol with 10-17 rds of a full power lethal cartridge.

HST's are a little snappy, especially in small, light guns. Even with my 1973 Walther PPK/s, it is very noticeable.

Watched Apocalypse Z on Prime - it wasn't too bad even though Zombie movies should have played out long ago.

Normally dumb movies somehow offer up one or two good ideas regarding staying alive during a SHTF scenario but not so much this one. As in the last Quiet Place movie, this guy also took his CAT along on his journeys which is ridiculous. Any fellow cat owner has to agree that is stupid writing. Dog? Yes/Maybe. Cat? NO.

Hunting flies with me? YES Zombies? NO!

Always on the lookout for yet more Sardines. The entire shopping cart full I got at .23 cents a can for expired (normally $3.99) is about 3/4th gone. :s0112: Grocery Outlet has 8oz Ribeyes for $5.99 and sometimes NY steaks, same.
When I can catch them a couple days prior to expiration at $3.10 I back up the truck. "These are all for you? Yes!"
They say never shop hungry.

Save yourself the trouble counting them checkout lady. There are 88 of them so $272.80. Excessive? People spend that for one dinner and a night out on the town eating seed/veg oil trash.

Also a big fan of Kipper Snacks, great Omega3 source, $1.99 each and 5oz wild caught Salmon $3.99. Happy Heirloom eggs on sale $7.99 18 pack.
