What Could Residents Do To Help Prevent Street Takeovers?

Just heard on the radio a major illegal event planned for this weekend in Potland. Called it the "West Coast Invitational". Said the police are bringing in extra resources. Last time it was here there was a homicide (gun shots) and a fatal crash. Hope none of that crap happens this time.

I know I've asked this a few times...but why in the hell is anyone still living in Portland. Don't understand.

If there is some question that the police should be involved, as a civilian you'd be well advised not to try something on your own. It's a matter of numbers. Getting your heinie whipped might be the least of it. They get you on the ground, it might metastasize into a group stomping frenzy. Then there are always knives and guns. Basically lawless people like that, they get in a group setting and anything is apt to happen.

Sounds like the Portland cops have lost control of the nights. As soon as they stop doing their crack down all the hoodlums will return in force. So the cops will run more "take overs". Then a cop will shoot and kill a minority during one of their "take overs" and there will be a huge community outcry which will in turn make the police even more impotent.

Some day the residents will figure out that they lost their city when the liberals took over the city and state governments.

Do these guys work? Do they stock up on cheap used tires? When we were this age, yeah, we burned rubber, but for the most part learned that that bubblegum costs money! And now new tires can easily be a C-note EACH! I won't even go into the brain trusts that are standing out in the road when this stuff is going on like they are a bull fighter taunting the bull? Putting their lives into the hands of a perfect stranger doing stupid things in their cars?

A friend of mine used to live a block off the gut in Salem back when it was very active. And kids would park in front of his house making a mess etc.

So being he was a radio station DJ he thought of a great way to clear them out. He turned his huge living room speakers outwards opened the windows. And cranked up some Jethro Tull Aqualung. Turns out that's all it took.

That is only because of how lawmakers handle it. Remember the "pocket bikes"? I have not seen one in a LONG time. They were for a while all over. Many places started to take them and have them trashed at scrap dealers. The street racers should face the same. Take the cars and sell them. If the cost of getting caught was you lose that car? A LOT less people would think it was worth it.

That would be terrible go to all that effort to steal a car then just have the cops take it away.

If you steal the car they just let you drive off with it. If you own it, then they will not. Would be great if the street racers had their cars stolen though. Would be fun to watch them SCREAM when Cops shrugged and said "oh well".
