Shooting 1000 yrds takes one hell of a stout steady rest. And rear bag...
I never drag that equipment into the field

I've seen the 1000 range. It looks more like a mile than "only" 3/5 of one! I don't pretend to know how to make a hit out there, but I'd really like to try someday. I've shot at 400 with just a sling and the ground reasonably well, but 2 1/2 times that distance? I wish!
