Well, I currently have a Gin and Tonic with a twist of ... Ash. And I'm not joking on that front. I attempted to read a couple books and enjoy a cold drink outside, but the fires thwarted that. Ash dropping on the reading material, my noggin, in the drink ... pretty much everywhere. Back inside I go. :p

Some Bushmills whiskey. Really hurt myself working the day job trying to push 50 carts. Want something to help ignore the pain a bit so I can work my last overnight shift, right before a morning shift.

Been an irritable day to say the least.

Working in Seattle all week. Did 74.4 hrs and I'll have 1350 miles into my commute by the time I get home tomorrow -- not counting the 200-300 miles of seat time every work day. Only good food within comfortable walking distance from my bubblegumty hotel is the casino across the street. Happy hour lemon drops tonight.View attachment 487756

Just mixed up a Tom Collins. As the noise level is increasing in the house, I do believe I will go enjoy said outside with a good book or two. It is hot, damn hot, out there, but I've always been hip to the heat.

I decided to compare the Sazerac Rye and the J. Riddle Peated Bourbon tonight. They have fairly similar sweet corn base with the Riddle adding malty smokey notes and a little more apple, and the Sazerac adds spicy cinnamon and anise with a little more cherry.

Just some ale. I ought to start making my own mead and stuff before the bank screams at me everytime I go out to stock up!

Mead is really easy to make but it takes a while to fully ferment all you need is honey, water, and yeast and a way to let CO2 out and keep air out, I've done it with a balloon that I poked holes in. An easy way to get started is with a cyser (apple cider fortified with honey) and use the half gallon glass jug the cider came in. Pour out a cup of cider, add a cup of honey shake to combine, add a yeast packet and a balloon instead of the cap.

I'm currently drinking a moonshine and coke. It doesn't work the sweetness is overwhelming.

Yeah, I might do mead first. But with a bit of juniper berries since I like the one I bought.
