I've made my own version of a Root Beer float for years.
Pint glass with a few ice cubes. Scoop of vanilla ice cream. Add a shot of Wild Turkey and some root beer. Stirr until the ice cream is liquid, then fill the glass with Root Beer.
They are fantastic and nobody knows what's in it. Well, about the time they want another one they figure out there's SOMETHING in it.

ps, anyone drinking one has been told they are alcoholic up front. My wife hates the taste of whiskey and she loves 'm.
