yet I continue to hear some gun owners say they dont have a problem with background checks, or "temporary" gun domestic violence restraining orders, or "their not coming to take your guns", etc. etc.

These types just cannot grasp that when the "background" check is done, the gun is registered. All of us own some "registered" if we have purchased in recent years. A lot of us may own ones that are not. I have asked several persons who claimed to be 2A supporters, yet had no problem with the "background" checks. I explained my position that it was registration, they all dismissed my position as " Oh, that is not what it is ... It is just a check on the person".

The gun control advocates and even these poser 2A supporters are completely ignorant of what the founders of this country went through to gain the freedoms we have. The lack of teaching of historical accounts of the years preceeding, during and after the Revolutionary War, in our public schools over the last 30 years is part of the liberal indoctrination of youth.

This account of the Battle of Concord should be mandatory reading for any American citizen, but hell no America Idol is on.

I wonder if you guys see the future, they tell you to turn in your guns or they stop you bank account, pension, healthcare, utilities and divers lic. If they don't know you have them then they can't demand them. Don't buy any guns registered under the new system and they will have no proof you own a gun.

They won't come to your house cause it would start a civil war. But they can prove you own a gun if it's registered and then you will bring it in to them.
The problem is that they can make a gun illeagal then demand you turn it in. If they do not know you have it and you do not turn it in they can not come take it. However, you will have a very nice paper weight as it will be useless for its intended purpose, the minute you use it to defend yourself or your family or property you will be arrested for possessing an illeagal weapon. They do not raven have to know what you have or come and take it.

Some guys will always have and use guns for evil, no matter how much the Govt. further neuters the 2ndA and disarms the Law abiding.
As for the good citizens who have acquired unregistered guns. I imagine those paperweights are to be used as a last resort against Tyranny.

All too true. But I think many people have the idea that they will "bury" their guns to keep them from getting taken.
The problem is, when you think you need to bury them is the time you need to dig them up.

Catchy phrase and partly true but...
Burying guns is a hedge against an event that might come in a quick rush of Tyrannical Activity or more likely the slow, one law at a time method we have been seeing.
Would you say to the Prepper who stores supplies of food and water that "when you think you need to store a supply of food and water, that's the time to eat and drink"?
Insurance policies are what we are talking here I guess.

I would add that, too damn many Prepper types don't vote or at least don't vote in a way that would help our cause. Too bad.
A lot of the Prepper mentality/lifestyle kinda likes the idea of shtf, wrol and they have a "Let's bring it on!" attitude.
Nothing wrong with an "I'm ready if it comes to that, Let's bring it on!" mindset, but don't let it stop you from getting political enough to try and Vote these Socialists out of office who are trampling on our Rights!

If you are storing them in the event of a catastrophe and you are not able to get hold of any food and supplies due to loss of job or worse, then yes, I would. Waiting for "the real SHTF" is stupid.
The point is that the "tyranny" you speak of which would cause you to bury your guns has already taken place. Therefore burying your guns would would be akin to doing nothing or waiting for "the real SHTF."

You are right there. I have a very confrontational attitude but I do not want things to get there. Too many people act as though they are ready for war but can't be bothered to confront people that that need it.

Figure out what it would really take to go door to door and round up your guns. There are about 100 million guns or better out there, that physical mass alone would take so many trucks and so many people that it's near impossible. Especially since a lot of people would start shooting when they come to get them. They will never send a cop to get your guns, nor the military.

They will use the system and make you turn them in yourself... if they know you have them. All them guys wanting to buy without paper really understood, who knows what they have. Of course ammo is going to be the big key factor, guns get called in there will be no ammo.

There are no lead mines left in the USA, they shut them all down.

What we are experiencing now is a soft Tyranny that sadly, many people in this State are happy to be living under. Add to that the always complaining against progressives and ready for war types that can't be bothered to use the Votes they have to help fix things and in 2, 3...6 years we may have a real Tyranny going on.
I can see why people want unregistered guns but we are far, far away from the need to "dig them up" IMO.

Violence is not the answer, fight back now with non violent methods. Last thing you would ever want is for it all to get ugly, especially since we can beat them non violently with a boycott.

Easily half the guns out there would be voluntarily turned in if the law of the land changed and said to. Sheep do as they are told.
A lot of mostly Law abiding people would hide an unregistered gun or two for a "Revolution" of sorts they sort of think they might join if enough citizens rise up first and seem like they are going to win LOL! Or they might be hanging on to them thinking the world is about to get all Mad Max on them.

Of course the criminal types amongst us would be emboldened knowing the public is unarmed. We'd see a rise in stabbings, rapes, muggings etc. I'm sure. Easy pickings for them after Americans give up their guns.

Consequences? The thread is about thinking ahead to where SB941s passage will lead. I tend to speculate that it will lead to more restrictions and a more overt form of Registration and a certain level of confiscation. In other words it will lead to no good.

Just Jim,
If it ever came down to voluntarily surrendering firearms, the only thing I would turn in are broken receivers with the serial numbers. That is if I were to comply. No one will "collect" any functioning firearm from me. Corruption runs deep. Heard some stories of turned in firearms being resold or kept by those who had collected them. This was in another state that was supposed to destroy them. I hope you are right and that this non sense law can be fought by us through peaceful means but I hold little faith in the elected officials that are supposed to go to bat for us in our government.
