I'm considering selling my Dillon 650 set up to fund current archery obsession. I have 9 mm dies, 300'sh 9mm bullets, 1,900'ish small pistol primers, 5'ish lbs of powder, manuals, scale, bullet puller, brass tumbler,…..pretty much everything you'd need to begin reloading 9mm less brass.

Well the primers themselves are with about $5,000 so……

But seriously, I always look at new prices for the items and then factor in a hefty discount if you want it to go quickly. A "hefty" discount may vary depending on demand and availability for said item. That of course will require a bit of research on the sellers end.

What Dizzyj says....do some homework and price it out new and then reduce your asking price to a number that is something you can live with. Also, you may be asked to sell items separately.....if it were mine I would add it up and make someone a great deal on all of it to save time selling piece by piece. In this market I would start near new and see how it goes....you can always drop the price.

Let me take a swing at this...

In my neck of the woods I have been seeing Dillon XL 650 machines being offered in the $775 - $1,000 range depending on components, upgrades, etc. I can't tell a lot from your photo of the machine other than the strong mount, it looks pretty stock. Personally, in June I purchased one for $975 that included:

Auto Casefeeder with Small pistol, Large Pistol Plates.
1 Powder Measure
1 9mm Conversion Kit
1 set of RCBS 9mm Reloading Dies
XL 650 Strong Mount
Bullet Tray
Aluminum Roller Handle upgrade
650 Machine Cover
RCBS RangeMaster Digital Powder Scale
Spent primer upgrade
Primer shut off upgrade
Shell pate bearing upgrade
Ejector wire upgrade
Toolhead light

So if I had to guess, I might think yours would be in the $650 - $775 range

Recently, I have seen the following of your items for re-sale:

- FA magnet $8-10
- FA rotary wet tumbler with media $80 - $100
- dryer $40
- reloading books @ $5-10 a piece

So, take the above with a grain of salt - your local conditions and opinion may vary. Bottom line is until you try, you won't know.

Lastly, let me say that I have seen several reasonably/moderately priced machines go fairly quickly. I have also seen a few greatly over priced ones that sit and rust until the seller gets serious and reduces to market price - since your future buyer really doesn't care what you paid retail for the items and won't pay retail plus profit. (Note: the only exception to this seems to be those Dillon items, like carbide dies, that have out of stock dates a year out. Recently, I have seen .223 dies going from $200 - $350, which is just nuts. IMHO.)

Good luck with your sale OP.

Put it up in the Classifieds.
An asking price is just that. Then you could always add...."OBO" within the ad's body. Remember that the classifieds (at NWFA) is NOT an auction.

Aloha, Mark

I haven't done any reloading for quite some time and just recently learned about the primer situation. Didn't know I had them until I was inventorying everything. Could almost swear I saw golden light and heard angels singing when I found them!

Just a couple months back there was no primers and no equipment for sale anywhere. At that point I would have priced the equipment at about what you paid for it. Or a little more and added an OBO to that. The primers are also becoming available. Dillion equipment holds its value very well. And there Guarantee stays with the press. So that helps them sell. That's where I would start.
Up until recently I had never reloaded 9mm, except for some specialty ammo, and some experimental ammo. But with none available I broke out some old dies and made ammo. Now is a good time to sell a 9mm setup! Good Luck DR

Still working up to something of that high caliber! Haha

What's the cost of the 750?

- Base stripped model without dies - looks like it starts at $750
- Add the case feeder, dies and all the bells and whistles - currently showing $1,560.00

Given the increased cost of a new machine and the availability issues of some parts - like dies, your XL 650 is desirable.

FWIW - Scheels has the 750 in stock with free shipping for $670. That is just the base machine though, nothing else. They have the conversion for $105. But the primers and powder will push your price :)

GLWS!
