I really think you're giving "Liberals" a bad rap here. This is a major reason why I stayed away from your board, if you look at what liberal means in the classic context it is not a pro-state, pro-control, manner. The fact that we give ourselves labels, and then say everyone of a different label is unworthy goes right back to the playground. What we're really describing here is a cult of statism, or a cult of elitism. People who think their purpose in life is simply to tell everyone else what to do, and that the only solution to every problem is more government and more control. To say this is "liberalism" is a twisted visage of what it originally meant.

I wish more people would educate themselves in this respect. I cringe every time I see someone use terms like "libs, libtard, or even "the liberals" in a discussion. Half the time they aren't even talking about people who identify as liberals usually the person just labels them that because they don't agree with their opinion, and more often than not the people they refer to are anything BUT true liberals, they just don't share coinciding opinions. More to the point, typically when I see liberal used as a dirty word, its usually a cop out. Do you even bubbleguming know what any of those terms mean? What you're inartfully describing is called STATISM, this is not something that's exclusive to the "Left". The cancer that is the state is the problem, and the "RIGHT" with all desires for regulating abortion, homosexuals, women, drugs, alcohol are just as much part of the problem that you blindly refuse to recognize. You have the symptoms down, that of excessive taxation, government deficits, and a burgeoning welfare state, but you have completely misdiagnosed the disease.

Religion is a personal choice, I happen to be a christian, but that doesn't mean I should use that as a bias to interfere with my transgendered homosexual pot smoking neighbor. Because what she does in his own house is her bubbleguming business not mine, and not yours. Just like my extensive collection of guns is none of her goddamn business unless she wants to come over and shoot.

If you want freedoms, you have to be able to let people have their freedoms whatever they may be. The only limitation of freedom is that it doesn't interfere with anyone else's. Exercising control and coercion over someone else's life is as morally decadent as what you accuse others of.

So why don't you remove the plank from thine own eye, before you pick the spec from your neighbor's and start showing some bubbleguming idological consistency here because you're making anyone who identifies with you look like a bubbleguming idiot.

Liberals want more government control, conservatives want less but damned sure want what little government they are comfortable with, to tell other people how to live and what to do blah blah blah. The reality is that people clinging desperately to their party or alingment are no help to anyone else. Both sides want to run the nation their way, both sides have the same number of nut job crazy supporters, both sides are a joke.

There's a good portion of people in this country try that are sick and tired of hearing about welfare, social programing, gun control, Christianity, abortion, gay marriage the list goes on and on. If you think you have it all figured out, why haven't you fixed it?
