By the way, I OC in Oregon ALL THE TIME. When I don't OC, I carry concealed. The only permit I have is the one granted to me by the 2A. I need nothing more. Contempt of these illegal laws is the only way they will go away.

We live in a place where the people support a President that suspends laws that allow a country to exist(immigration laws. Without borders, you are in fact not even a country at all. A country is defined by it's borders. We are now the DMZ between Canada and Mexico.), meanwhile allowing the same President to attempt to put in laws where there shall be none(that is what "Shall Not Be Infringed" means. The power is already given to the people, how can anyone think that the states can override The Constitution? That is reserved for rights not given to the Federal Government or the People. Since gun rights are spelled out, how can ANY exist?).

With all that, American people in many states have handed over their rights to people that want to control them. Now that we/they have allowed it to go so far, why would we even think we deserve redemption? We deserve exactly what we get for allowing this to happen and not wanting to rock the boat while things were good. Now that things aren't so good, everyone wants to be handed back what they gave away? Apparently Americans and especially Californians need a serious lesson as to why these laws are in place. Maybe then, if we can past the incredible hole dug the deepest by the Californians, we won't let it happen again. But I know better. All we will need is another FDR followed by a few LBJ's to get us back on the Fed teat, ready to sign away all our freedoms for some free money or housing that isn't free. What a joke.

the same way the people in colorado did. it seems to have worked out for them

Not in Denver it didn't. The two senators recalled were from pro-gun areas and those were the only people allowed to vote in the recall election. California LOVES their gun control by an overwhelming majority. Same goes for places like Massachusetts. I wish gun owners in those states well, but it's a hopeless cause.

There are Hills I'm willing to die on, but Little Bighorn isn't one of them. And wasting our time writing senators and legislators from another state who RIGHTFULLY feel we have no business telling THEIR state what to do is futile and time wasting. We have enough problems right here in WA where my letters and phone calls and meetings actually have a chance of doing something.

Thank you for proving my point. Why would you take your eye off that ball to go after your neighbors ball, that has been deflated and ran over decades ago? We have our own problems and we can't wait until we get to CA levels before we tell everyone else they need to drop their pitchfork's and pick up ours.

how did I prove your point? Or. already has started down the path and you said in California, they allow these infringement's to happen. We do not allow them to happen in OR and WA.

meaning they finally got off their butt and decided to dosomething that was in their best interest otherwise the recall would not have happened and the two people who were voted in (from pro-gun areas) would still be there

If you are time-limited and can only write a letter a week, then yes, sure, choose your priorities.

If not, then I wonder how you know that CA has enough resources to sort all their correspondence by the state of origin and discard everything not coming from CA, figure out who is a CA resident on vacation in another state and who isn't, etc.

Technically, he's got a point. You can't yell "fire" in a crowded space, not that I'm advocating any limits on firearms...

Oh hoghwash. You have every right to yell fire in a crowded theater. If there is a fire, you should yell it. If there isn't, well you just might be facing some criminal charges as you lied, that led to people being hurt or dead.

Half of my family hails from northern California - "State of Jefferson" people. The good folks of northern Cali make up a very loud minority. First of all, they don't even recognize California as their state government, they sure as crap don't follow California's insanely illegal laws, and they're not going to sell their hundreds of thousands of acres of otherwise useless volcanic sand and sagebrush and redwoods and four generations of love and history for pennies on the dollar because you folks want to see California collapse.

New book I heard about on bill post's radio show the other day:
The Elusive State of Jefferson: A Journey through the 51st State: Peter Laufer: 9780762788361: Amazon.com: Books

I have a feeling I won't agree with the author's conclusions but should be an interesting read.

the same way the people in colorado did. it seems to have worked out for them

Well, that is not entirely true. It doesn't always workout that way. The people of Cali fought and fought for their opinion that Marriage Is Between A Man And A Women but we see what happened. The SCOTUS (5-4 BTW) turned on and ruled against the Cali people and the nation.

Even if the people of Cali decided on one way, the government employees can make the majority do something they do not want to do. Yes, I think we need to stand behind our Californian brothers and sisters. Maybe one day we all can fix what has been done to both of our states. I have hope, but it aint looking good.

The Oregonians most certainly did. Multnomah County and its infringement/ordinance against constitutional loaded open carry. Oregon residence are just laying down and doing what they are told. Whats next, the whole state? Probably. You are next Washington.

Ahem... WA already has more restrictive laws and local ordinances than Oregon.

Really?
1. Oregon isn't a Shall-issue state for non-residents, WA is.
2. Oregon has CCW reciprocity with NO ONE. WA has reciprocity with over a dozen states.
3. Oregon doesn't have broad state pre-emption (allows cities or counties to ban open carry in
"public places.")
4. Oregon has a separate BG check process and fee, WA doesn't.
5. Oregon has very long wait-times for CCW permits, WA Routinely has them back within a week or two.
6. Oregon has a training requirement for a CHL (which is an utter joke BTW as far as training goes) WA does not.
7. WA allows you to open-carry a handgun anywhere in the state pretty much hassle free anywhere you can legally carry concealed except for your car. (without a permit) Oregon varies by town.
8. We have the right to be reimbursed for our legal expenses in the event we are found not guilty by reason of self-defense in WA. I don't believe Oregon has any such statute though I could be wrong.

About the only thing that's "better" about Oregon gun laws is not having a MG ban (those of you with $8,000+ to spend on an MG please all raise your hand) and allowing SBRs/SBSs. (Which WA is now looking to allow again).

We also have a handgun waiting period at an FFL, which I don't believe Oregon does, though this doesn't apply to anyone with a CPL.

For all practical matters, for any issue that actually affect me or anyone I deal with, I'll take WA over Oregon in a hot second based on gun laws alone.
Besides, Portland makes most of Seattle look like Lubbock TX politically.

Excuse me, can they open carry loaded without the CHL permission?

Yes we can, and no local ordinances are allowed to interfere with that right.

Las Californias has done this to itself. I'm sorry, but people that keep folks like Feinstein in power for over 30 years obviously want the infringement. Personally, I'm more into fighting for those that will actually fight for themselves, not those that want their Socialist State government to do it all for them. They do in fact reap what they sew.

Thing is whenever any anti-gun legislation is passed it emboldens anti-gunners to make more.
Why not simply take a moment to urge Gov Brown to Uphold the Oath of Office that he took, maybe Gov Brown isn't as treasonous as the rest of the lawmakers in California

I posted my link and setup as a social experiment. What did I learn. Once again the internet commando cowboy libertarians strike again. The great majority wrote rather silly and rather retarded comments that took you far longer than the RIGHT CLICK COPY paste that my link and letter would have done.

but....you go girls...keep up the good work with your internet commando ninja skills... and then when the toxic parasites from California come to Oregon. You keep it up once again...we might need you when the door to door confiscations begin.
