BB,
You're an interesting anomaly... You think that anybody that open carries has mental problems, but you don't view living in Cali. the same?

Half of my family hails from northern California - "State of Jefferson" people. The good folks of northern Cali make up a very loud minority. First of all, they don't even recognize California as their state government, they sure as crap don't follow California's insanely illegal laws, and they're not going to sell their hundreds of thousands of acres of otherwise useless volcanic sand and sagebrush and redwoods and four generations of love and history for pennies on the dollar because you folks want to see California collapse.

And I've never said OCers have mental health problems. Don't over-generalize. In a lot of places in northern Cali, for perfect instance, open-carry is the norm, not just "ok" (especially since you can't even GET a license to conceal if you wanted one).

California IS important, regardless what you think of Californians.

The more money and attention is spent by anti-gunners somewhere else, the less of it has a chance to focus on the Northwest.

Well, just like some of us here in Multnomah County there are probably the same types in Cali. We waste our votes every election it seems and hope for the state to go back toward a Constitutional Republic instead of further towards a Socialist Democracy.

Now, now, Ben has his beliefs and he stands behind them no matter how many of us climb on him, and as someone who has himself taken that stance many times on this very site, I applaud him for that. He truly does believe in what he says and conveys and does not spout BS that he heard Chris Matthews say, as many fools on this site do. I agree with him on many other conservative views he has. I do believe BB's views on OC and now this CA business is misguided. I do not however, begrudge his stance and his right to do so, as I have faith that it came from introspection and reflection, rather than a mimicking of Anderson Cooper.

And here we have a previously unknown horse in the fight.

I would argue that with this info, this is in fact YOUR fight and you should back it up, even if it is too far gone. I will NEVER give in and I will die before my property or my rights are taken from me. When the State of Jefferson is established, I will be a resident myself and look forward to siding with like-minded people, no matter what state they were born and raised in.

Write the letters to Brown, if for nothing else its good therapy.
He just might veto the bills, then you can watch the leftists schite themselves.

Everything is about context. In all the recent OC threads where we've battled wits, my stance has been from the context (and I've tried to remember to make it clear) of sub/urban environments. I am NOT across-the-board opposed to open carry in all situations. I do it myself, in some situations (as noted in the other thread). In some places, like the rurals of Oregon and the small towns littering the gravelly roads of Northern California, basically ALL of Idaho and Montana, etc, etc., open carry is perfectly OK. Doesn't bother anyone but outsiders, who probably aren't welcome anyway.

Context.

I think that NoCal has a better chance of creating a separate state than they do getting Feinstein off of their gun rights. Just say'n...

But rights aren't contextual. I don't only get my rights in a certain context. I can't agree with you on that one, though I do understand it.
