AB5E8F61-5975-4B2A-BF09-244A0FEFEEBD.jpeg Alright everyone, it's time to email Salem again. I've compiled a list of all the state senators and representatives contact information. Call, email, write letters, you know the deal. We are helping Derek LeBlanc, the president of Kids SAFE Foundation, with his proposed legislation LC 3454.

Please be respectful in your emails and let these senators and representatives know this legislation will save lives of the most vulnerable of our citizens, our children. Stay focused on LC 3454, this email should be about this piece of legislation and this piece only. Thank you all for your help in this.

Most important Representatives and Senators, they are a joint committee on early childhood education that may be able to help further LC 3454. Let them know this piece of legislation would be great for our school systems.

Let this be both a bump and an update to this stale thread. Here is an update I copy-n-pasted from FB by the author of the LC.

"I want to share a victory with all of my 80k new friends. Back in 2019, I was approached by a politician in my district about writing legislation for the state of Oregon. He said that he would get it introduced on my behalf. It was about a subject that I'm passionate about and something that I'm a subject matter expert on. I wrote a bill on my iPad in a coffee shop on a Sunday afternoon. That night a young boy died 20 miles from my home. For some reason that Sunday my heart was being pulled and a voice was telling me that I had to get this bill done. I believe it was my higher power guiding my way.
.
"I sent it to him. He sent it to his contacts. It was sent to the Legislative Council for their legal review. They changed 5 words of the original text. They assigned it a LC# and LC3454 was born. I then went all over the capital building to get bipartisan support for my concept. On a Bill Back I got 10 supporters on both sides of the isle, and in both chambers. The bill was then Teed up by Byers and Rep Sprenger. There were 37 anti gun bills that year and there was mine. We were the only bill to get a Public hearing, but died in committee due to it being a short session. One page, written by a subject matter expert and was easy to implement.
.
"I am proud to announce that today I was given a "note to mother." This is basically an endorsement to LC. The Legislative Council is now loading my bill into the system as we speak. Emotions are overwhelming. We are gonna do it all again. One step at a time. I will need YOUR help with this. If you're in Rep David Brock Smiths district. Please email him and thank you for helping push this forward. He is a hero to our children. I'll update when I have an actual LC#. God is good!
