I remember being asked by a colleague in the silicon valley high tech office where I worked if I had something to open a box. So I take my Spyderco Persistence knife out of my pocket, fold it open and hand it to him handle-first. He looked at me weird and said "ooh, scary". "Do you want to use my perfectly legal pocket knife or not? I have it with me especially for things like this". Sure, of course, then it's OK.
