Wirsbo or Pex is the preferred piping to lay underground or inside a dwelling.
PVC is too brittle and copper is too expensive.
There's about a million miles of PVC underground right now.I would guess a few hundred that I buried. It's brittle but you sand it,bed the pipe and it is fine. Make sure there aren't any bad bends or stress on the pipe and it will last quite some time
As long as there aren't any caustic chemicals in the ground. Years ago Cal gas? tried to use PVC for Natural gas. Made the pipe even more brittle,in thee biggest earthquake zone,lol
 
PVC has too many glue joints for a long run. I'm a big fan of Wirsbo and don't miss getting the acetone primer and glue allover me when installing PVC, especially when crawling under a house.
