As the last post just said there are people that don't even know the bill exists, even on here. Hell I've got family in Washington that go shooting and they didn't even know about the bill. Outside of gun groups there has little to no mention of the bill and it was done intentionally that way. I'm going to take a guess an say that the vast majority of people in Washington don't want this bill. Which is why they made as little noise about it a possible so that it can get through without getting attention or noticed. Hell I didn't even know about it until my supplier told me about it.

What if you already have a stack of,say, 30 rd mil spec mags for a ar type firearm or factory mags for a glock19. Already have, you have had them for ever....are these grand fathered in? how would you prove that?,, are you expected to surrender them to the gov???
out of stater asking for clarity. ....and do washintonians really think this is going to work and/or be enforced??? what about those that dont follow the rules?, you know, the ones the media mentions bu act, those without names, faces and/or a place to live?
If they own it before July 1st they can keep it. After that you can't buy them or even parts for them. As for anyone that is not a Washington resident, after July 1st it will be illegal to bring a mag over 10rds into the state, even if it's yours. On top of that if you move to Washington after July 1st it will be illegal to bring your own mags that are over 10rds.(not sure how they expect to enforce that one)

There never is when the media is the Gun Grabber Left's propaganda arm... people need to learn to stop relying on the Ministry of Truth and its "Official Narrative," and actively look for info on their own.

ALWAYS assume Olympia is actively looking for new ways to screw you over, and 9 times out of 10 you won't be wrong.

Proof of ownership isn't part of it as there isn't a way to prove ownership other than hearsay, or demand to see recipes which won't happen. If it's in your possession than that makes it yours if you say so. All they can do is ask how long you've had it and that's it.
I hope so
But best believe the amendments to this are coming when nothing changes. It will become a felony
Then you won't be able to have them outside your house
Then you won't be able have them

Yes assuming gun owners sit on their hands again and ignore this the law makers will not stop. They will keep taking just as long as voters keep ignoring them or worse yet actually voting for them.

This is the second step to slowly but surely remove all of our rights, slow and inexorable swirl down the drain.

  • It bans the manufacture, distribution, sale, transfer, importation, etc., of magazines that "are capable of holding," or hold more than, 10 rounds of ammunition.
  • This includes conversion kits or parts from which any such magazine may be assembled.
  • This magazine ban includes both rifle and pistol magazines.
  • Any violation of this measure is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by a maximum of 364 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

It is really sad as well that only about 15K posted a "CON" opinion as well. I am not sure how many people own firearms in Washington State but if 250K did a "CON" maybe it would have made a difference. I know people that own firearms and they were clueless as well until said something to them or emailed them.

All a part of a bigger plan......

First they came for the Socialists Hi-cap magazines, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist had no Hi-cap magazines.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists Semi-automatic firearms, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist had no Semi-automatic firearms.

Then they came for the Jews shotguns, rifles and revolvers, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew did not own a shotgun, rifle or revolver.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me real weapons left to put up a fight with.

Aloha, Mark

What, magazine ban? That's the first I've heard about it. How did that happen?
What?? You let them ban magazines then the next thing will be newspapers.
How did we come to such a sorry pass?
Where's the ACLU?
Are they banning all magazines or just the dirty ones?
Asking for my father...

Man
That's hauntingly familiar...

It gets easier, once you figure out how THEY think.

The 1st Amendment according to the Liberals.....

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, unless someone claims to be offended by your practice thereof."

The 2nd Amendment according to the Liberals..…

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, unless I say it's reasonable and makes common sense to me."

Well what if *I* say it's reasonable and commonsense to kick a Commie in the nuts everyday? Bonus, it improves your health because it's a wonderfully cathartic stress reliever...

But our opinions don't count because all who dissent are Deplorables and thus literally subhuman... these people's ideological fathers had a word for how they view everyone outside their bubble, "Untermenschen."

And herein lies the problem. People can't/don't even pay attention to what goes on in their own state, let alone what is going on in other states. And this bill comes straight to you from the communists in California...and it's the reason why people need to pay attention to the 2a issues in California and join their fight for 2a rights. Because California is a disease that spreads.

You don't have to wonder what comes after this because California has already shown you...They will ultimately do away with the grandfather provision. After some times goes by they will say that this law isn't doing enough and that they now need to ban ALL magazines over 10 rounds, PERIOD. You will be given a short amount of time where you can a) permanently block your hi cap mags and limited them to 10 rounds, b) sell your mags out of state, c) sell them to a licensed FFL or d) destroy them. It's for the children. You understand comrade.

There is some good news in that there is already a court case challenging this. It's Duncan vs. Bonta and has been going on for several years already. How many of you knew that?

The initial decision of the case found that the California law is completely unconstitutional. That decision, however, was overturned during en banc by the 9th District...like always. And that decision was, in turn, immediately stayed to give the pro gun side time to appeal. A petition for certiorari was filed with SCOTUS in early March and now we wait some more.

You can follow the status of Duncan v Bonta here...

Stop drunk driving? Limit bottles/cans of alcoholic beverages to 5 ounces.
Limit/reduce police chases? Limit gasoline tank capacities to 5 gallons. except for law enforcement vehicles.
Limit stupidity? Stop voting in politicians with less than .10 oz. of brains.

So...a person cannot buy a magazine with more than 10 rounds, but you can buy as many 10 rounders as you want? BRILLIANT!!!!!

So for anyone that is wondering the magazine capacity ban goes into effect on July 1st 2022 for Washington state. You won't be able to buy, sell or mail mags over 10rd. Penalty they list is year in jail and $5,000 fine. They were pretty thorough in screwing lawful gun owners, you won't even be able to buy from someone on here and have them mail it to you or even meet you in Washington to get it. You can't even send them into the state for someone for free.
The only loophole I can see is buying it out of state and taking it home yourself.
Sucks to be you folks...

I saw this coming and moved to Idaho...me and my Ruger 10/22 "Semiautomatic Assault Rifle" and 15 round mags.
