If we start taking fingers from criminals, like say, 1 digit per crime they get caught committing... We would know who the repeat offenders are quickly at a glance. Bring back the handshake for every interaction with the general public and it gets pretty hard to hide your past.

There is no "safe" place in the Northwest! Just like Mt. Lions following deer, crims follow the population! Crime, as perceived by those who have the goods desired by those who do not, will Never go away. It is an activity endemic to ALL carbon based life forms (two or four legged, feathered or furred). The "problem" up here is the parts of the state that are blue. Deeper the blue, the worse the crime. When you have law makers who support criminals you get more crime. It really is that simple but, we still can't get large numbers of people to see they are getting just what they vote for. So the rest of us just have to live with the fall out.

Sadly we just have not felt enough pain yet. We will see in a couple days if people have had enough yet. If not we will get sideshow bob as the new Governor and prove we still have not yet felt enough pain.

We sure as hell do. Sadly those of us who fight it are stuck with two choices. Live with the mess made or move. One kid lives in ID and it does look damn nice. Wife and I both are tied to the job here so we for now live with it. Really hurts to see how far we have fallen in the last decade.

So, you couldn't even sentence someone to probation, which sucks because it was a great tool to get into their homes and see if they had a bunch of new stuff.

Democrats also created a law that required everyone sentenced to felony supervision to go through a risk assessment. If you scored low risk, you were released with no supervision. The majority of the assessment is self-report. "Nope, never used drugs". "Nope, no history of mental health issues". "Yep, got a great relationship with my kids (who he probably molested)".

We who fight have to live with what gets voted in. Every election we hear a lot of bluster, normally from those who are proud to say they don't vote. The "from my cold dead hand" crowd. This makes great bumper stickers. The great hoax proved that VERY few are EVER going to do this and that's a good thing. The first time some one does decide the cartridge box is the solution they will be smashed and a lot of people will look at all of us like we are kooks.
So yes we do still deserve just what we get. We live in the hands down greatest country in the world. It has both good and bad but we all have a choice. Don't like it we can pull up stakes and leave if we wish. The only way this ever gets better is more pain. Enough pain and maybe more people will decide they want change. Until then? The rest of us can live with it the best we can or we can of course just move.
