Sorry to hear about your experience, time is money for me so I get it.

I'm wondering about any sale of a semi-auto rifle; even if a buyer in OR get's denied I don't think the gun dealer will give it back to me, they'll need to have a WA FFL return it to me, and that will only happen after a WA semi-auto BG check.

I don't plan on EVER submitting to a WA semi-auto rifle BG check, I already ordered up an auxiliary coffin so the family can bury my rifles next to me, lol.

OR is different because they still do the NICS check in front of you. You'll know before you leave and the FFL doesn't have to hold it. If it gets denied, you just leave with your gun.

Righto. And if buyer has a CHL and clerk knows where to enter.the number in system it can take about 5-10 min. Without chl# can take about 20-25 min.

Some (all?) ffls require u to leave with a trigger lock if it's a handgun so bring a super cheap one with u. Can be the simple cable type or trigger guard type. It just has to be with the handgun.

The lock thing really pisses me off. THEY aren't selling you a gun. They are selling you the service of doing a bgc. Its just a "gotcha!" and a few non refundable dollars to go their way.

Yea I know what you mean the pawn shop in Tigard charges $10 for a lock and I think $2 to copy ur driver's license. That lets them advertise transfers for $25. One of the online stores had trigger locks for less than $1 on clearance so I stocked up on them just for someday use.

I sold a gun there the other day and didn't buy the shotgun I had intended to buy because of the same BS. I'd pay extra just to make sure no more of my money goes there.
