It's the end result once gun ownership is slowly but surely chipped away at until finally you have no rights at all and it's your firearm on the pile, and we come full circle to me first response to you here at NWFA.

This president has a proven track record of not supporting 2A policies, laws or agendas. I believe he would nullify the 2A if he had the power. He doesn't. What he does have the power to do, however, is appoint supreme court justices that also share his politics. He's already appointed two very anti-2A justices, and he has the potential to appoint more if he gets reelected. We won Heller and McDonald, but by a 5-4 margin. Even after saying Heller was "settled law," Sotamayor (I think it was her) voted against an individual's right to keep and bear arms for self defense. This is very scary. He also appoints Federal judges; judges that fit in his political philosophy. It's the back door to taking certain right away. He's savvy enough to not make a frontal assault on gun rights.

It's within reason to believe Obama can and will shift the balance of the supreme court if given the chance, and I don't trust the Republicans to be able to successfully block it. I think it's naive and shortsighted to say that "because it didn't happen immediately, it won't happen." Things take time, especially laws and court cases. Some take decades, and the groundwork is being laid now.

I'm trying to find somewhere in my post where I even implied he was alone in doing that. If that's the best you have, you'd better try harder. How about debating my points, or is that not up your alley?

Gun rights seem to be on the forefront of many political debates, which makes Obamas appointments dangerous IMO. In general, I'm scared of most liberal judicial appointments because I think they are doing their best to strengthen the nanny state and regulate our lives.

Anti gunners, including the POTUS have not minced words about their desires for changes to gun ownership/rights in America.
But somehow its wrong for us to stand up to what they would like to do? If we didnt make any noise they would have removed our rights as we know them a long time ago.
