I have also. You actually have to type the specific address to get here. Can't be a coincidence.

Chrome wouldn't let me continue to the site claiming 4 pages had malware infections.

Snipers Hide started getting attacks about a week after Newtown. First time I ever saw it. Today is the first time ever for this site.

so are the gun grabbers in this instance, those responsible for the "attack component" (assuming it exists), or is Google a gun grabbing party here?

Joey should be all over this. Firefox also popped up this page: Firefox Website Warning | StopBadware providing a possible way to eradicate the threat- but only the site's owner can take such action.

Slickguns(dot)com got hit too, reporting a third-party ad-host was flagged causing it.

It's the adsbyisocket cookie installer that is the problem. I run Ghostery (among other safeguards on my Mac) which blocks those cookies.

On a Mac you can go to Preferences>Security and uncheck "Warn Against Fraudulent Sites". Just make sure you have all of the Java boxes unchecked as well.
