This is an Editorial and informational alert primarily about HB2005. This legislation is being sold as outlawing "ghost guns". If you read it carefully there are at least two other major changes buried in the text over and above the outright ban on an individual's ability to make their own personal firearms without government oversight. Something that has been a long standing right as a citizen of the United States.

First, they are redefining what is considered a "frame" on a handgun (Section 1 (5)). It is loosely worded to apparently apply to the barrel and the slide and will require them to be serialized by a FFL gunsmith. This means they will need to go into the FFL's book, be serialized and then returned to you. I would assume this would apply to every pistol barrel and slide combo. Beyond the obvious redundancy of serializing an assembled firearm, it is another financial burden and registration of your components over and above the frame.

If this isn't bad enough they are proposing similar treatment to rifles. Section 1 (13) appears to apply to ALL upper receivers, barrels and bolt carrier groups. It's purposely vague so it is hard to define the components. Again you will be required to take the components to an FFL gunsmith, have him book your components, serialize them and return to you. Penalty for violating this bill will start as a class B misdemeanor punishable by 6 months in jail and a fine up to $2500. Of course this means you will need to go through the background check process to buy or sell these components. They are claiming this is an "emergency" so it can go into effect when signed.

As we all know there is no end to the attacks these people will pursue until no one has a firearm of any type. "Common Sense" gun law is a cover statement for the true agenda.

There are public hearings scheduled for Wednesday March 22nd @ 8 AM for 3 bills that will affect all of us in one way or another. They are HB2005, HB2006 and HB2007. Here is a link about the hearing HERE Please contact your legislature representatives HERE and tell them these bills are bad and discriminatory towards the poorer citizens of Oregon. Please make an effort to let your politicians know how you feel about these bills. The Oregon Shooting Sports Association has compiled a lot of great info HERE. HB 2527 passed through the committee today. It radically redefines paramilitary definitions and will most likely be used by the Attorney General to squelch dissent. It also allows civil suits against individuals. Read the text HERE Please become informed while there is still time.

Illegal laws, incompetent and corrupt legislators and a leftist court... Every one of these fools should face prison time for pushing unconstitutional laws. It will be a sad day when the last peaceful option people have left is mass non-compliance.

I saw the ARPC email too. This seems... Very bad. If I want to drop in a new barrel to a commercial firearm, does that mean it needs to be serialized? If so, ridiculous.
