If you add up all the money US government have had to pay out saving Matt Damon from WW2, Mars x2, it probably equals the GDP of Russia.

Thin Red Line - Shawn Penn, Nick Nolte, Jim Caviezel, Terrence Malick Dir.

If you want to get to the core of November 11, which is really ARMISTICE DAY - the 11th day of the 11th month @ 11 hours, when WW1 finally stumbled to a bloody end, read:
All Quiet on the Western Front
by German vet Erich Maria Remarque - best war novel ever written.

I havent seen The Final Countdown yet. Kind of an interesting movie. The opening F14 takeoff actually sounds real vs the Top Gun engine noises.

Well this is going to show my age. As a kid I would watch war movies on the weekend. Nobody has mentioned "The Dirty Dozen". A couple of newer ones are, "Hunt for Red October", "Jarhead", "Fury", "Unbroken". A couple of more I can think of are, "The bridge over the river Kwai", "Windtalkers".

Devil's Brigade....It was filmed in Utah, partially in the South of the SLC Valley. An old closed military camp, Camp Williams was used where they had the Brits and Americans together training. Dad and I used to ride our trail bikes all over and there were places up in the foot hills where there were still burned out military vehicles that they'd not removed yet after making the movie.

I was the chef for a catering service and catered a Donny Osmond video shoot at Camp Williams. Fed troops out there during the Iraq windup out there too.
    Like the Devil's Brigade too.

For a local documentary, watch Shepherds of Helmand; about the Oregon National Guard in Afghanistan.
