This is what it looks like:

Here is what I know:
  • The anouncement came yesterday New Auto-Ordnance custom 1911s draw a crowd in Dallas (PHOTOS) - Patriot Gun News
  • Thompson Auto Ordnance has a limited number of these pistols
  • The price is $964.99
  • Specs are based on AO’s standard 1911A1 GI Model in .45ACP, with a 5-inch barrel, seven-round magazine, and U.S. property-marked wood grips. The pistol includes a carbon steel slide, sear, and disconnector machined from solid bar stock and low-profile sights. All are domestically made.

Here is what I don't know:
  • Assuming this is coming from the Magnum research side vs. Kahr
  • All the other specs!
  • How much time I have to put in for pre-orders.

If you are interested send me a PM and I will get details to you ASAP!

Interesting... Looking at the larger pictures, the OCD side of me comes out... The engraving, assume by laser, seems uneven and incomplete between the slide and frame. Most notable, the Presidential Seal is missing the “D” in UNITED...

For a grand, they’d need to get a bit more exact. Otherwise a unique novelty item. And sure to piss of the liberal/socialist/progressive sect...

All the more reason to want one...

They should do something similar with a 1927 Thompson :D

I have already inquired on that, there is no way it will ship being that sloppy. Waiting for the complete specs as well.

The photos don't look very good, and the fit and finish that I could see makes it look more like a rush job then a finally crafted 1911, which kind of goes against the whole reason behind a 1911! Sad, and for that much coin, I would have expected more! I'll pass!

Not for me! I got my Dads John Wayne 1911, and the matching 1894 saddle ring lever .30/30, if those don't pizz of the Sno-Flakes, nothing else will!:D

Considering the source, is it really any surprise what-so-ever?

What I am hearing is a loud “Pass” from the masses. That is all I needed and will close the thread.

Anyone that feels different and wants to have this on the down low you have until noon Wednesday to reach out and commit funds.

I like it, 1911 for our 45th potus is very fitting. His speech at the NRA convention was awesome.:D
Because you mentioned it I did a google search to find his speech and I got four pages of results that bashed it.

I hate the “news”. All I wanted was the speech, not peoples’ biased opinions of it. Thanks but no thanks google, I like to come to my own conclusions.

*I apologize to the OP because this isn’t really on topic.

I don't like Trump enough to buy a gun splattered with his face and name.
