There are tons of better 22LR's out there. If you want a full sized gun My faverate is the S&W model's 422, 622 and 2206(they quite making these in the mid-late 90's, but they are still avalible on the used market). They are great shooters and very acurate. They make then in 4 and 6 ince barrels. My dad has had his for about 15 years and has shot literly about 5 bricks through it a year. Thats 75,000 rounds, and it still shoots great. The browning buckmarks are also very nice. S&W model 41 ($600 to $1100) Rugar Mark III.

If you want a compact gun like the P22 there are not very many options for a confterble gun. The only one that comes to mind is the S&W 2213 and 2214, but they are not as confterable as the P22 and very hard to find(in fact I am looking to buy one right now, does anyone out there have one).
