I finally had a chance to program my Baofeng BF-F9V2+ using the CHIRP programming cable and the spreadsheet you sent me. They both work. I am using a Linux system for running the CHIRP software.

One thing I notice that if I use the UV_5R it does not give me that power option for the transmitter within the CHIRP software. By using BF-F8HP it downloads the transmitter wattage as well. The BF-F9V2+ has three wattage settings of 1, 3 or the full 8 watts.

The USB charging cable works as well. Just plugs in to charging station base. LED turns yellow on the USB side and red on the charging base. Then both green when the battery is fully charged.
