Erudne, apologies. I really should have thought of looking back almost a hundred years or so to get an idea of the moslem input unto the British Armed Forces. However, the general gentleman was born into the British Empire, not Syria/Libya/Buttwipe-istan. He was also NOT in the British Army, but the British INDIAN Army - a totally different kettle of fish. During WW1 the British Indian Army's moslems performed admirable service in France, winning many medals for bravery. As did the Sikhs. And Hindus. And Chinese. All were part of the British Empire.

In any case, the worthy Captain Muhammed is hardly running the British Army - your post implied that the British Armed forces were totally controlled by moslems. This is patently untrue.

Captain Naveed Muhammad is a member of the British Army Reserves, and not a full-time soldier. Nevertheless, he is undoubtedly a moslem in the British Army, albeit not actually running it clandestinely. My shooting pal, Shaz, is also a moslem, but he is not in the Army. He is a medic in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, with seven tours in Afghanistan as a MERTS technician behind him. These are the paramedics who keep you alive in the back of the Chinook when things have gone badly wrong on the ground. The number of military personnel [and local civilians] who owe their lives to him is not known, but the Queen was happy enough with his behaviour to award him a medal for doing it.

He does have one detracting feature though. Being a Scottish Pakistani, born and bred in Glasgow, he has a nigh-on incomprehensible Glaswegian accent that you could use to sole a boot.
