Bloody weekend aftermath: ‘Does this happen at gun shows?’

Thirteen people shot and wounded at a “low rider car show” in Kent, and hours later at the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, a jealous husband walked in, pulled a gun and opened fire on his wife, her dance partner and her sisters.

Anyone actually surprised that something like this happened at a 'low rider car show'? Low riders tend to attract a certain type of people...

Wow. You should work in law enforcement. With your stereotyping skills, you'll be a seargent in no time!

I think the term is "to profile" and its a very good idea to use that as a tool too. Middle eastern male looking nervous getting on a plane.. Keep an extra eye on him. Kid with a red or blue bandana, saggin drawers and a hand in his pocket.. Keep an extra eye on him. It's no good being so sensitive to the feelings of others that we make ourselves prime and easy targets. PC taken to the degree that it has been taken to is BS.

the car show was reported as a la raza event,
it has been and was turned into a mexican pride movement,
by gang bangers

here is just one story on la raza

U.S. Immigration Laws: The Truth About "La Raza" Movement - HUMAN EVENTS

I don't know on how immigration issues can still be dealt with in here. We need a very strong political will, both Federal and State government, to at least begin the cleanup.
Immigration in the US is a double sided thing --- for legal immigrants (talented hardworking people from around the world) that were processed according to laws of this land, helped to shape this great nation, in a nice way. On the other hand, the illegal immigrants, that the government has no way of screening, are a curse for the US. US economy is really bad at this time and these disruptive elements have contributed to a higher crime rate in areas where they lived. If the state government continues to make this state a haven for illegal immigrants then we'll follow the footsteps of the state of California---- illegal immigrations drained their state budgets for the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens.

Yeah I was gunna cap a guy at a gun show for 'dissin' my paint job on my ammo can.
But they didn't let me bring my loaded gun in.

I really try not to be prejudiced but I did notice some similarities to the circumstance of all the shootings

BTW how do these la raza folks intend to get anybody behind them or care what they have to say when the are fighting among themselves and shooting each other when CHILDREN ARE PRESENT?

Are Mexicans muslim and it's OK to sacrifice your children for a paint job?

I'm sure i probably already went on this rant before, but here i go again.

If a minority is assaulted in a white neighborhood, It's racial. If a white person is assaulted in a minority neighborhood, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you ever want to take a stroll and experience the difference, PM me. I grew up (and learned to fight) in the "Barrio/Da hood".

There is truth in all stereotypes, like it or not.

To the OP, i was just talking to a friend about that at one of the last gun shows. I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that most of people there are armed. More, It's the character of the people attending.

Just my $0.03.

Lefty.

Yeah, I think I know how the whole racial thing works these days. Not in the "white peoples" favor. I also learned that growing up by the villa where I also learned that knives worked alot better than fists.

Interestingly enough, when the local news media (in socal) was reporting on this, they interviewed the president of the car club, he apparently decided not to attend because of some of the acts who were supposed to perform, saying "they [would bring] a bad element". Yet apparently guns are to blame, boy am I dumb.

California is going bankrupt not just because they have taken on a huge third world poverty class, but also because that third world poverty class has driven out all the tax payers and businesses, leaving a vacuum that will just suck in more third world poverty. It's funny, 2-3 years ago, political candidates down here were always going off about how california would be the world's 6th largest economy if it were by itself. I havn't heard that mentioned much lately, I wonder what happened. I guess since they turned off the water in the central valley killing much of the farming in the state, and then chased all the big nasty polluting manufacturers out of the state the GDP of the state is more reminiscent of estonia in 1991, or present day Zimbabwe.

The reality that most voters need to consider when talking about national immigration policy is how antithetical illegal immigration is to the values of our republic, especially in light of the 13th and 14th amendments. We fought a civil war to abolish slavery nearly 150 years ago, yet today citizens who have chosen to come here illegally will often find themselves in conditions of servitude and slavery due to the inaction of our elected representatives and law enforcement to do anything about it.

We really need to consider as the people of this nation whether we will tolerate slavery in it's current incarnation, or will allow the system that currently supports it (the regime in Mexico, and embodied in progressive ideology) to continue to exist into the future. We invaded Iraq in 2003 to topple an illegitimate government that was a threat to the world, yet right now we are giving aid payments to support a corrupt and dehumanizing cabal to our south.

Rather than speaking harshly of the Mexican people who see no way to better themselves without breaking our laws, instead we should inspire them to make life in Mexico just as good as life in the United States.

I know this parking lot well. It's about 5 min from my place and surrounded by a very busy intersection with many bus stops and busy shops like the bagel shop, pizza hut, dive shop, burger king and liquer store. At least he nor the pissed off guy at the casino didnt kill anybody. 12+7 people injured is pretty good for no fatalities.

The event was sponsored by a racist group who claims rights to the southwestern US. Not a great leap of deduction to assume there would be some unsavory elements there. Profiling has worked very well for El Al and KLM to ensure the security of their flights. I am quite sure the brief one on one interview conducted with each passenger would have detected both the "shoe bomber" and the "underwear bomber", as well as the 9/11 gangs. Those who see this logical security measure conducted by trained professionals as "intrusive" and "unjustified" are clueless idiots.... no matter how many classic cars they own.

Additionally, the passengers on the airplane worked. For years I've said that exactly two things have made us safer since 9/11: reinforcing the cockpit door and convincing passengers that they need to fight back. It was the second of these that, on Christmas Day, quickly subdued Abdulmutallab after he set his pants on fire.
Source: Our Reaction Is the Real Security Failure

The only way to truely deal with a distributed threat is with a distributed defense. While politicians and security experts constantly try to absolve us of our responsibilities when it comes to providing security, what it really comes down to, is since 9/11 at least 3 major attempts have been made at hijacking and destroying airplanes, all of which have been stopped by passengers on the plane. Skymarshals, TSA, FBI are all 0 in 3, whereas the passengers are 3 for 3. Arguably 9/11 wouldn't have happened if the terrorists knew that in order to take over the plane and wrest control from the crew they would be outnumbered in an aluminum tube flying at 30,000ft by people who knew that the cost of failure was likely certain death. Now that we all know the stakes, I'd bet on us every time.
