If you are adamantly opposed to the entire idea of 1122, then drive on! However, you might want to know that the current form of 1122 is much different than it's original form. You might want to actually read the bill in it's current form.

From the GOAL post:

The House version of the safe storage bill DID pass, but in amended and watered down form. It's still a bad bill, as well as totally unnecessary – current reckless endangerment law already covers the topic. Unfortunately almost all pro-gun bills died as well.

got it. still learning the process. Will have a look at the watered down version.

To echo what another person posted on his Facebook page, I was wary that even in a legal defensive gun use situation, if the police determined your gun was "unsecured" based on 1122 definitions, you could still get prosecuted.

Nope, in fact there is a provision for a 'child' under 18 to use the unsecured firearm in self-defense as positive defense against a reckless endangerment charge.

That's not to say I think 1122 is perfection in itself, but it is reasonable that people should take positive action to keep their TV-saturated idiot kids from running around with loaded guns. In our house dad kept control of the ammo and that handled the problem.
