This tax is being collected at the wholesale level so it appears to be aimed at hurting WA retailers of ammunition. While WA State has been aggressive about collecting sales taxes from online retailers I am doubtful this excise tax would be collectable from out of State retailers. Surplus Ammo was smart to move out of WA. You may see other companies exit if this law passes.

NOW THAT IS BUBBLEGUM!!

The state gets plenty of revenue elsewhere, like marijuana sales. Fiscal year 2018 saw an increase of $50 million in excise tax from marijuana from 2017. Most likely 2019 will surpass 2018.

These actions to hinder, restrict, infringe, or impair an individual's 2A rights should constitute an in injury...

Casino revenue, Marijuana revenue, Lottery revenue, sales tax revenue, car renewal fees revenue... it's endless...:mad:
And let's not forget the additional sales tax revenue they are likely collecting after the SCOTUS decision allowing States to go after out of State companies selling and shipping product to their residents. Supposedly the ammo tax revenue will go to some victims fund but somehow revenues always seem to get spent elsewhere.

Time to buy by the case in oregon.

The BS train is gonna keep chugging no matter what, but we still need to go!

I agree.

Our Gov passed a unconstitutional law (1639), BS still chugging.
The people passed the lower cost for car tabs...Gov wants to overtirn the will of the people..BS still chugging.
There was a rally last fall...BS still chugging.

People across this great land of ours look at appointments to the SCOTUS as leaning left or right, instead of who's reading the constitution correctly. When was the last time the SCOTUS had a 9-0 ruling? Even our so called "Constitutional Scholars" can't figure it out. They make decisions based on their beliefs, not the constitution.

Our Gov has brain washed many people into believing we are a democracy...not a republic, thus we act as such.

We need to get back to being Colonial, until then...the BS still chugs along.

The only way this will stop...the type of Bundy standoff that we saw a few years back. Strength in numbers. Not advocating violence in any way, but the Gov can't function the way its going when the masses standup and and won't be moved.

The rally is a good thing...shows the Gov the amount of people they are up against...we need to make them think twice...kinda like the Virginia people are doing.

I'm also not ethically prepared to open the ammo box until I have screamed my lungs out on the soap box, and that is what these rallies are to me. (Not actuall screaming mind you)

If everyone who talks tough went to these, or voted, or both, things would be much different.

Prolonged peaceful sleepover at the capitol bldg? That would be something to see. SCOTUS already cleared the way for this by letting lower court decision on homeless camping in public stand. How many beds does Olympia have available for the homeless anyways?

We've arranged for a charter bus to the rally, 20 seats remaining. Departing Vancouver 6AM, returning 5 PM. FREE with RSVP to Sporting Systems. This cost us $1600 and we'd really like to see a full load from SW WA to represent.

The anti crowd knows the ship has sailed on keeping guns out of the public. They are trying to restrict use and transport and build databases. But the less invasive and easiest passed is a tax on what goes down the barrel. (money for the affected parties of gun violence.) ya right. A little bit on each bullet won't affect your right to bear arms. You just get to pay more to make it go bang. It's another way to grab control without confiscation.
I stocked up on 22lr at crazy low price after the last election. I'm now stocking up on primers to the multi 10-20K range against the tax that may not be able to stop. Just in case.
Every one asks why are we looking to move when my son graduates high school. It's because this state is choking every penny out of every one. then taking a stance so contrary to our established freedoms. Then passing laws to undermine them.

Shoot, man. If this keeps going nobody will have to wonder... the online retailers will cut their losses and stop shipping to WA, period.
Who needs to tap-dance through that legal minefield?
WA will join MA, NY, NJ, and CA at the bottom of each page under the "Can not ship to the following states..." disclaimer.
