WA resident buying a gun in OR - legal question

I have a friend who is coming to visit from WA.
Can he legally buy an handgun in OR from a regular gun shop?

Are there some special rules e.g.he can buy it but it has to ship to a WA state FFL?

Anyone (FFL dealers especially) have the definitive answer for this?

It can be bought here but he will have to pay the sales tax and have it shipped to an FFL in WA.

No your friend needs to set up a FFL to FFL transfer for handguns between states, he may make the deal in OR, then have the FFL ship the gun to WA FFL. He is required to pay WA sales tax if he buys from a business in OR, or proivide a bill of sale that states a private party sale.

All toll with transfer fee and shipping you can burn a $50 bill quickly.
