To pick up the AR you were helping her purchase?Heading out today to set up camp. Was held back because the sis just had to visit me!
Yep, talking with you, easy to tell you're the real deal in long range shooting.I shoot this rifle to more than double that distance when just long range target shooting steel, so this wasn't just some Hail Mary poke with Kentucky windage
That sure doesn't look like Western Washington (or left Washington, as I generally refer to it). Is your Remington a standard barrel, or a custom fast twist? I would be surprised if a standard twist barrel would stabilize that 103 gr ELD X bullet. And didn't all the smart shooters tell you that a .243 runs out of steam at much beyond 200 yards? (They forgot to tell my antelope buck that fell to a Speer 90 gr Deep Curl at 318 yards last fall, too. )View attachment 764348615 yards with a Rem 700 .243 using my Handloads. 103gr. It's a factory Remington barrel. I believe Remington has them with a 1 in 9 1/4" twist. They stabilize well. My last steel plate is just a little past 1,400 yards and these bullets give good results even at that distance. I also had good results with 105gr. Berger VLD bullets. Though I don't recommend them for huntingThat sure doesn't look like Western Washington (or left Washington, as I generally refer to it). Is your Remington a standard barrel, or a custom fast twist? If you're in WA, try Chiliwist unit 239. You want to increase your success rate? Be willing to hike more into the higher country away from general public. Use good bino's and I recommend a good spotting scope and tripodWhich GMU? I am in 364! And no luck . Surprised i have a cell signal.
