Washington State Legislature

Pro on HB 1024, and Con on the rest (magazine bans, more DV laws, ghost guns, reporting stolen guns).

And for those that don't know, HB 1024 -
Prohibits the department of licensing from keeping
copies or records of applications to purchase pistols or
pistol transfers.
Requires the department to eliminate copies or records
of pistol purchase applications or pistol transfers from
databases maintained by the department.

From what I could ascertain from the committee members, most were unenthused at all about any of the speakers except for the ones for these abysmal hacks against our rights.

There were 3 members (all male) that did ask questions of the opposition to these bills, it was enlightening and I did not believe it to be negative.

I will leave it up to those with better hearing than I to jump in here and give us a synopsis.

Thanks to all those Pro 2A Patriots that testify today, you guys and gals rock!!!

Received canned response today, basically full of lies and nonsense.

Thank you for reaching out to State Representative Christine Kilduff. We appreciate hearing from our constituents regarding issues important to you. We recognize that your concerns regarding your rights as a law-abiding gun owner are valid. As a lawyer, Representative Kilduff believes strongly in the Constitution and understands the importance of the Second Amendment. It is her belief that we can preserve constitutional rights, as well as keep our communities safe.

In 1994, our federal Congress acted to ban these magazines, however that ban expired in 2004. As a response, nine states and Washington, D.C. have already outlawed high capacity magazines. Notably, this law does not limit the number of magazines or firearms that an individual may purchase, only the capacity of the magazine itself. This is not an infringement on Second Amendment rights, but rather a safety precaution to better protect our communities, including our schoolchildren and common areas like churches.

HB 1068 is currently in the House Civil Rights and Judiciary Committee and had a public hearing this morning. If you are interested in following the bill through the Legislative process, enter HB 1068 here: http://app.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/ . You will find accurate and up to date information about this bill and any others being considered. There is an option to sign up for email notifications on the progress of this and any other bills that you would like to follow.

Know that we appreciate hearing from you, and we are glad that people are watching these important issues. Please continue to share your thoughts as we get into session. Your willingness to voice your concerns helps Representative Kilduff better serve the people of our district.

Our door is always open and please do not hesitate to reach out again.

Kind regards,

My response to the text in red: Then perhaps we should instill the same rules to the military and police as a safety precaution to better protect the world from the military, and better protect the citizens from the police.
