No grandfather clause. Pretty bad.
The law makers no longer feel they need to offer that Sop to get what they want. Again they never stop, they never get enough. As long as there is no push back, as in they lose their job, they will keep taking.I've noticed that trend in recent years. Back in the day, the gun-grabbers usually had a grandfather clause. Quite a bit of the newer proposed legislation, in this state and elsewhere, does not: they want them turned in.
Although from the WaPo, here's another interesting article, considering the turmoil surrounding the NRA:Gun-rights groups are planning to make sure the paper-thin Republican majority in both houses holds the line against new gun-control measures while they pursue gun-rights bills.
As it turned out, GOP leaders shut down Tuesday's legislative session after 90 minutes without voting on any gun-control bills. It was a display of political muscle for the NRA, a brand that has appeared crippled in recent months.
It was to my understanding that a no grandfather clause violates the law.
Can't take away peoples legally purchased property without fair market compensation or grandfathering in previously legally purchased items. If we win in 2020 and can stack the SC with sane judges.. this can get kicked up to them then ruled on permanently halting this overreaching, draconian nonsense.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Not just the law, the Constitution (at least if there is no compensation). 5th Amendment:
does this stand a chance of passing?
From the articles I referenced above, it sounds to me like the chances are low.does this stand a chance of passing?
