Let's talk about drop leg holsters next. The number of people I see wearing these things half way down their leg.

The holster should be low enough to clear your body armor...that's it! Any lower and you are adding time onto your draw. And the lower down your leg you go the more unstable the holster becomes...especially if you have to run.

Ideally the thigh strap should sit as HIGH into your crotch area as you can get it (obviously I mean it should still be comfortable and not choking the "boys" or anything).

Let's review!...

Getting better...but this holster could probably go higher if it didn't have the double thigh strap so think about that when you're buying your rig.

Yeah, if you aren't required to wear all the crap the commanding officers think you have to wear :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
A variety of US military guys with lots of stuff. Note some are good, some are bad, some show alternatives if you can get away with. ;) 640px-thumbnail.jpg 033105_ktn_iraq.jpg SSGAshford1.jpg 1014681127.jpg 82ABNwithM14Afghanistan.jpg 51775434.jpg chapman.jpg 51093829-1024x1024.jpg 030916-head-shake-doubt-usmc-klr650-567x389.jpg Picture497_zps96d2e7a4.jpg 041126-M-5191K-005_-_Sgt_Aubrey_McDade,_USMC.jpg pasted image 0.png SowersSF.jpg

Besides; the idea position looks very similar to how the leather 1911 holster was attached to a pistol belt..

Edit. The Bianchi UM84 drop extender puts the holster way low relative to a trouser belt, because it was supposed to be worn with the ALICE belt worn high on the body with space for magazines
