Violent crime down, gun sales up

OK, rephrase it from "increased gun sales responsible for decrease in crime", over to "despite record increases in gun sales, the crime rate has declined".


I say record gun sales, because not all gun sales are the purchase of NEW guns... I believe "gun sales" are based on the amount of FFL NICS background checks for new and used weapons, not what the manufacturers are reporting on their quarterly and annual sales reports.
