I got this scope today at a gun show.it is near new, except it is missing the rubber on eyepiece.
My question, can anyone date the scope by the box? It was made in Japan, (BL)
Couldn't say for sure, it's been a long time, but that looks a lot like one of those that I bought back in the mid-70's. Nice scope in its day, but the eye relief was short, too short for the 444 Marlin I put it on . Dumb kid choice, live and learn as they say . Later.
I think you are right, yea I harped on my dad to shoot his old marlin 336,, 32 Winchester special with a old weaver 4x scope. He finally let me shoot it but failed to tell me to keep my face back from the scope.Boom, instant scope cut. I was 10 and did I cry? Nope it was the perfect battle wound to brag about at school.
