Hey Folks,
This is a USGI M69 Fragmentation Vest. Utilized by U.S. troops in Vietnam and the post war years until being replaced by the PASGT system in 1983.
My understanding is that these vests were the equivalent of level II protection, designed specifically to stop grenade and mortar fragmentation.
It's not every day we can mix history AND ballistic protection!
The vest is a size Medium. It fits well and is easily adjusted using the drawstrings on the side. There are some pen markings on the back that were there when I acquired the vest and a small tape patch on the right interior of the vest. A discoloration in the lower back from when one of my canteens burst in my truck. I'm sure it would come out with a little cleaning.
This is a great vest
Overall the vest is in great shape and can be worn as is or spruced up a bit for a cool display piece.
Can meet in the greater Salem or Corvallis area.
