Anderson Arms upper and lower
Adams Arms mid gas piston drive
BHW mid gas 16" P3 barrel
full floated handguard
harris bipod on QD mount
original USMC rear sight
HK style front sight
EOtech holo sight

The Marines like their M27 so well, they just ordered 10,000 more
I've built both DI and piston ARs and they both have their place.
for pure target rifle, I'll go DI with adj gas system
for a tactical or field rifle, I'll go with a piston drive
with the Adams mid gas piston system and IMI ammo, I'm at 1500 rnds without cleaning
after 10 mags, you can drop that bolt in your bare hand with no discomfort
a couple drops of EWL each time and she keeps on chuggin
since I'm new here, I search for a thread on piston ARs
I've built them in 5.56 and 6.5G

@rjmt Like I said, it's a nice build. The purists will call foul, but around here, as the old joke about the pilot and the preacher said, "we work by results," and it sounds like your build's getting those nicely.

Diamondback, I'd love to hear from one of the HK 416 fans
the USMC found a problem with the carbine gas piston system on the 416 and specified a Mid gas system for their M27
I have yet to find a civilian HK with a mid gas piston system, which is why I built my own.

and I was mistaken on the number of additional M27 ordered by the USMC - it was 50,000 more
I would have loved to have had one of those back in '68

the USMC has converted some of their M27s to M38 SDM

add a Leupold Mk4 scope on a ARMS QD mount and the 2 stage Giessele SSA trigger and now its a SDM

Wait - I have both of those on my AR 5.56 target rifle - would be an easy change out
